"personhood" idiocy in N Dakota

If you say that a fetus is equal to the mother, and has equal rights, than you open up countless ways the state can interfere with the woman's life, drinking, smoking, what type of birth she wants, everything.

The alternative is a (?) mother, snuffing a human life.

More huffo puffo fluffo put as 'fact' by a troll...

yawn

Oh, so its untrue because of the source? Are you saying this is not true:

North Dakota lawmakers passed a Personhood Constitutional Amendment initiative on Thursday that would amend the state's constitution to give legal rights and protections to human embryos. If the ballot initiative passes the House, North Dakota voters will decide on it during the 2014 elections.

Prove it. Post a true source that says that N Dak senate did not pass this bill or stfu because, in point of fact, your post is a prime example of cowardly trolling.

troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."

If you've got the courage, comment on the content.

The source (especially one like that) comes into question with the leaps, conclusions, and general unsubstantiated bullshit written within the story.. THAT IS WHY EXTREMIST LEFTIST HUFFO PUFFO IS NOT A LEGIT SOURCE.... You think it is an issue, get the rundown from a source that is not out in wingnutville

If I take my two year old to the emergency room for a broken arm, and the doctor says he needs a cast, and I say no, the doctor will say I'm endangering my child and call the police.

Personhood bills give doctors the right to force medical decisions on pregnant women.

There is virtually no difference between your two year old and a third trimester fetus. A doctor can and should stop you from harming, or allowing harm to come to, a third trimester fetus. Even the courts agree on this.

A "personhood" bill, since you insist on calling it that, prevents a woman from getting an abortion because such a law says the embryo or fetus has a right to life.

I dont disagree that 3rd trimester is a child, I disagree with giving that child the same rights you give a two year old.

Would you give a 3rd trimester unborn child the same rights as one that is 3 months premature?? As a person who cannot care for themselves and are totally reliant on another person for help?? As a person with sever mental retardation who cannot express thought and communicate with others??

You seem all too comfortable about arbitrarily drawn lines of what you think is important about an innocent life

Really??? Does the state (even with the nanny state crap we have) stop a mother from smoking while breastfeeding? Drinking while breastfeeding? Chain smoking with her kids in the room or car?? Does it stop her from using new age or holistic 'medicine' for the kids??
No

You cannot, however, cause mortal injury, purposely, to anyone under your direct care... whether it be an infant, parent in a coma, or whatever else.. and the growing child within should be no different

Not the bedroom. The abortionist's butcher table.

We must see these babies born so we can starve them. It's the "Republican way".

No... the ones starving them are not the ones giving to great charities.. it's the ones who choose not to work, smoke crack, buy smokes before buying their kids food, etc...

But nice try, asshole

you are a horrible person...How do you know they would starve? And because of that they shouldn't AT LEAST get the chance TO LIVE?

People care more for Animals in this country...sick

I've already provided a link that shows the beginning of what happens when you decide that a woman's right over her body is superseded by the rights of her fetus. When the state hauls a women in labor away in handcuffs, I absolutly can see that quickly spiraling into charging pregnant smokers.

So a women has no responsibility to care for an unborn life?

And that is exactly the question personhood laws opens up. When should the state step in, should a crack head be imprisoned for 9 months to prevent her from poisoning her fetus? Should a pregnant woman who's a drunk be confined to the county jail to protect her fetus?

So far the government can already dictate the kind of delivery a woman has, and can charge her should she attempt to make her own medical choices. What next?

Some might call you a heartless bastard, I'd go with something worse...:eusa_shhh:

No More Free School Lunch, Congressman Says

Remember When Mitt Romney Called Disaster Relief Immoral and Wanted to Privatize It?

I feel ending school lunches for poor children is wrong.

I feel making disaster victims pay to be rescued is wrong.

Yet, the right wing feels it is I who is "immoral".

I'm sure I don't agree with their zany idea of what is "moral".

Who takes care of the child once it's born. Clearly Republicans don't want to. Or is that child "punishment" because the women got pregnant. It would be so much easier if she were given free birth control. Like men can get Viagra.

Is that a decision you should be making? You must be "wise".

Last I heard, anyone smoking crack can wind up in jail. When do we take the responsibility of having sex, smoking, drinking or doing drugs? Everything we do has consequences, good or bad, when do we own up to what we do?

I will never accept that the consequences of getting pregnant are giving over the right to my body to the state.

If I want to eat all raw food, get drunk every night, never visit an OBGYN and have a home birth in my bath tub with a witch doctor chanting over me, that's my right, and the state has no fucking business telling me otherwise.
