It's been my contention for some time now that perhaps what we need to do as a country is divide it in half and each political group gets a side. We can't seem to get along, and as time moves forward, we are drifting further and further apart.

Imagine how great it would be to live in a country with no liberals around at all? Low crime, lower taxes, less laws and regulations, very few people on social programs? Life would be great, and the best part of all, is if we chose my side of the country for conservatives to live on, my property value would double overnight.

At least where I live, too many counties. It would be like a zoo and wouldn't solve anything. If we divide the country in half; each half having their own President, Congress Senate and states, that would solve most of our problems on the conservative side.

It's how each side views the country.

On the conservative side, we believe that our country is a country of individuals who take care of themselves. Each individual excels as much as they can, and those who try the hardest reap the rewards.

Liberals view the country as a group--like a giant commune. Some go out and work, and bring back money to the commune which is shared equally. Some bring back food, others just have babies, sit home all day and smoke pot.

It's hard to reconcile those two views on the country. So we fight politically to see which side can control the country the way they see fit.

I am a progressive in the honest meaning of the term. For example, I support banning all middle east religions or at least educating people on what they really are. I came here after I repeatedly devastated the "liberals" on the defunct site called discussanything.
