...But the most salient difference between the two views is the acceptance of the slaughter of those who don't agree, or don't choose to follow their doctrines, with a shrug.
How many progressive in America can you name who want to slaughter anyone who doesn't agree with them?
As Goldberg describes..."The excesses of the European versions of fascism were mitigated by the specific history and culture of America, Jeffersonian individualism, heterogeneity of the population, ..."
....but the desire to force others to dance to the Progressives jig is still there.
4. This determinism is the impetus for the totalitarian mechanism: coercion.
If you convince yourself that 'determinism' is the guiding principle of other people's lives, and they can not behave other than the way that they do...then it is up to you to force them to behave in the way you wish them to.
And this is a prime example of the dehumanizing of the citizenry, because, no matter how poor, or how poorly educated they are, human beings are capable of making independent judgments: that's what being a human being is.
In his experience with heroin addicts, Dalrymple found this sort of determinism. When asked why they began taking heroin...the explanation sounded like the law of gravity: "I fell in with the wrong crowd."
Of course....none of these individuals described themselves as "the wrong crowd."
So...the blame is the determinism of a sort of 'social gravity,' rather than the fact that they made conscious decisions, wanted to be in that group, and do what that group did.
Of course, the Progressives who are able to provide benefits for them go along with the fable as though it were true. In effect, saying "You are completely innocent ...you are a victim."
So you can name 'none'.
Why did you say it then? Why try to claim that progressives want to kill everyone if you know that's an outright lie?
Speaking of lying......you are.
It said "the acceptance of the slaughter of those who don't agree, or don't choose to follow their doctrines, with a shrug."
Your vocabulary lesson:
Acceptance: "the action or process of being received as adequate or suitable, typically to be admitted into a group."
FDR bonded with Stalin, and, of course, FDR is a god to you Progressives/Liberals/Democrats.
Let me remind you.....I never lie.
