Putin's Historic Miscalculation May Make Him a War Criminal

Putin and Trump supporters totally amaze me regarding how they respond to thread topics. It's like they have a comprehension problem.
And yet, you Dimwit Dimmers mention Putin and Trump in your posts thousands more times than any real American. Why is that looneytunes??

In the eyes of the world and almost certainly history, Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine on Thursday was an epic miscalculation, drawing comparisons to Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein for cold-blooded aggression that could challenge the world order and change its borders. The Russian leader appeared almost delusional in a pre-dawn speech from the Kremlin announcing a “special military operation” to “protect” Donbas, the eastern region where Russian-backed separatists have waged a war for eight years. Putin, instead, immediately ordered Russian tanks into Ukraine and air strikes on the capital and more than a dozen cities in a country of forty million people. “Peace on our continent has been shattered,” the nato secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg told reporters. “We now have war in Europe on a scale and of a type we thought belonged to history.” Putin’s “reckless” attack risks “countless innocent lives,” Stoltenberg warned.

Putin is now, at minimum, a pariah condemned by leaders across the world. “Putin is the aggressor. Putin chose this war,” President Biden said in a speech to the nation announcing new sanctions on Russian financial institutions and élites. He charged that Putin “has much larger ambitions than Ukraine.” “He wants to, in fact, reëstablish the former Soviet Union,” Biden said. “His ambitions are completely contrary to the place where the rest of the world has arrived.” In one of a flurry of statements reflecting outrage globally, the European Commission chief, Ursula von der Leyen, called Russia’s act “barbaric” and dismissed its justifications as “cynical.” In a tweet, the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, said he was appalled by Putin’s “horrific” decision to pursue “a path of bloodshed and destruction.” Putin’s military offensive put him on the diplomatic defensive. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, called the attack “a turning point” in history that will have a profound and lasting impact across the continent.

Putin may now also qualify as a war criminal, according to the Geneva Conventions of 1949. War crimes include willful killing and extensive destruction of property “not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly.” The term has been inconsistently interpreted and unevenly applied to leaders or countries—including to the U.S. and its officials—who have initiated aggression for reasons considered unjustified. In Ukraine, Putin’s “war of choice” has clearly violated international law through his invasion of a sovereign country and attempt to oust its government. After an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting, on Wednesday, the Secretary-General, António Guterres, warned that the Russian invasion could be the “worst war” of the century “with consequences not only devastating for Ukraine, not only tragic for the Russian Federation” but for the entire world.

I totally agree. The above article was written by Robin Wright - a smart lady. What do you think?

Yes, Putin is a war criminal. So is is butt buddy Biden

History will clearly reflect that Trump and his NaziCon supporters emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine. I'm just surprised that Putin was dumb enough to take the bait.
What a stupid baseless claim--trying to smear Trump and anyone who supports him with lies about PUTIN after Biden and his nitwitted followers allowed and encourage Putin to attack isn't going to cover up the facts.

What’s the UN going to do about it?
Write a nasty letter?

Putin is a rabid dictator. Maybe the Russian people will eventually put him down. However, the problem is that they don't have access to factual news. Hell, we have many NaziCon morons in this country who can't even distinguish between real and fake news. Oh, and they love being lied to! Hell, they even send the liars money! So strange. So funny.

Would Hillary Clinton take a $145 Million dollar bribe from Putin? Yes!

Would Obama, Biden and Clinton illegally fly Billions of Dollars to Iran so they can buy Russian Uranium, Russian Centrifuges, and Russian Missile Technology, and Russian Nuclear Scientists so that they can build Nukes to exterminate Israel with? Yes!

Would Obama, Biden and Clinton do a back room sweetheart deal to sell Putin 20% of our Uranium? Yes!

Would Obama, Biden and Clinton pay Uncle Putin $13 Million dollars for a fake dirty dossier so that they can first try to rig the 2016 election, spy on President Trump, and then attack our Democracy with an internal insurrection and bureacratic COUP? Yes!

Would Obama, Biden and Clinton assassinate Qadaffi, and pay Al Queda in Libya to overthrow the government there so that Putin could move in and take over Libyan oil fields? Yes!

Putin is killing men, women and children he's already a f'ing war criminal. Europe you bunch of dumb fuckers why can't you stop making war and killing each other for fuck's sake? 2,000 straight years of this shit.

Abstained? ABSTAINED????

Nooooooo!!!

:laughing0301:

Can we all agree that the fucking UN is a big piece of shit that does NOTHING but pass "resolutions" to do something that never gets done?

Has the UN ever ONCE been successful? EVER? AT ALL?
.

In 1991 the United Nations helped NATO, the United States, United Kingdom and Russian Federation ...
Coerced Ukraine into giving up what was then the third largest nuclear arsenal in exchange for Financial Contributions and Peace Assurances ...
And under threat of International Sanctions should they choose not to agree with the terms.

They successfully disarmed Ukraine with the help of some other Players who are still Playing.

Russia was legally justified for invading the Ukraine after the Ukraine refused to pay for the World Court ruling against them for stealing oil.
The Ukraine was also abusing ethnic Russians.
The Ukraine also was illegally giving military secrets to NATO.

What is a war crime are economic sanctions.
They illegal target civilian commerce.
So it is the US that should be punished, not Russia.

Nonsense.
It is the US that murdered 3 million innocent Vietnamese, half a million innocent Iraqis, etc.
Putin comes off as lily white in comparison, because he did not break off negotiations, the Ukraine did.

And the US is not innocent either.
The Monroe Doctrine was an illegal attempt to keep all the western hemisphere resources for ourselves.
We joined WWI on the side of the criminal Allies, who were guilty of assassinating Archduke Ferdinand, his wife, and illegally invading Germany first.
We then illegally torpedoed German civilian shipping to make them surrender, so we could illegally confiscate German wealth.

Who is the biggest war criminal?
The US illegally invaded Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, etc.

Hmmm....I think you have reached what they call the Deep End.

Not quite.
We wanted the Ukraine disarmed of nukes because we knew they were incredibly unstable, with criminals running the country.
And the nukes did not belong to the Ukraine.
They were Russian nukes that were just stationed there as a more dispersed target.
But the Ukraine had promised to stop stealing oil and to repay for what they had stolen, and they never did either.
They also broke the agreements by trying to join NATO.

Its called reality, where others fear to tread.
The US has never been nice, going back to Manifest Destiny and giving blankets infected with smallpox to the natives.
Yeah I get some of your points, and maybe we haven't always been "nice"....but compared to various other alternatives at the time maybe we couldn't afford to be nice.

My point is that they never should have trusted their enemies to start with ... :auiqs.jpg:
Now their fate could be in the hands of others.

I in no way excluded the idea that the United States is still one of the Players and still has nuclear weapons.

We did not need to cross the Appalachians into the Ohio valley and violate treaties.
We did not need to forcibly displace the natives from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, etc., with the Trail of Tears.
We did not need murder Tecumseh with the Blackhawk wars.
We did not need to then violate treaties again and cross the Mississippi.
We did not need to then starve the natives into going to Canada by wiping out the buffalo.
And we did not just do it to the natives, we also lied and cheated the Spanish.
Like the Alamo was not a bunch of pioneer settlers, but mercenaries hired to deliberately start an incident so the US could illegally invade TX.
We did the same in CA.
We did it again with the fake "Remember the Maine" claim so we could invade Spanish colonial possessions like the Philippines, in the Spanish American War.
