Q: Can a new Republican Congress reverse the inflation-increasing act?

Look...pumping money into the economy is inflationary . Bit that's not the only driver of inflation at work here.

Oil companies jumped their [prices up because they had taken massive losses AND THEY COULD.

Covid created huge supply chain issues raising prices.

A labor shortage made supply tougher as well as boosting wages (also inflationary)

And Russia invaded Ukraine creating world wide increases in both grain and oil prices.

And that government spending? Had it not been for that the economy AND the stock market would have crashed HARD.

And this is why we have almost 31 trillion dollars in debt, neither side will hold their side responsible.

You and those like you are the problem.
I am sorry but I laugh at this every-time...

What are US Federal Government assets?
What is the ratio with debt?

There are loads of questions around debt and deficit...

The Fed has little say in it. Inflation has been caused by big businesses out to increase their profit margins. The greatest inflation has been in industries that have the greatest pricing power because there is little competition. Spending by itself does not cause inflation.
How fucking stupid are you? Business has no control over inflation whatsoever. Government is incomplete control of the supply of money. That is what determines inflation.

When congress engages in deficit spending, it borrows money. Every dollar borrowed is a dollar the government creates.

The Fed has the MOST say in inflation. They deliberately kept interest rates artificially low to juice the economy.

Now the economy is overheated and so the only way to reduce inflation is to raise interest rates and then return them to the mean.
Yup. And they are in the process of doing that. It takes time to have the desired effect

The Republicans were only responsible for $1 trillion in additional spending, and that was the price the Dims inflicted for giving Trump his military increases. Dims are responsible for the other $7 trillion.

Who do you think you're fooling?
Wow. The delusion is strong in this one.

Bullshit. Government is the sole cause of inflation. Private companies cannot create money out of thin air. Only government can do that.

Those are facts, not delusion. Democrats voted for every last dollar of that spending. Who do you think you're fooling?
It's funny how you held Obama responsible for every penny of his $8 trillion of debt, and never the GOP Congress he had.

Who told you that?

Next time you see him, smack him hard upside his head.

Not sure how this works….

Clearly, new spending amidst a high inflation environment is not going to help, and increasing taxes is bad timing as well. Can a newly elected Republican majority reverse this come January 2023?
They won't totally be able to undo the massive amount of damage the left has done....but they can certainly slow it down, as they did when they won big in the midterms during the Obama regime.

Why is this important?

Are you suggesting that the US Federal Government would be able to sell off its assets to pay the debt?

Here is a figure for you.

The US Govt spent around 50 billion dollars in July to service the US national debt.

Horseshit. This retroactive amnesia is astounding.

Trump and his GOP Congress set about doubling the federal deficit BEFORE Covid, you fucking idiot. Were you in a coma?

I swear, his tard herd was in a coma the whole time. I started many topics about Trump's spending on this forum, and you could not find a single Trumpist who whined about Obama's spending to say anything about Trump's spending.

Fucking hypocrites.

Hey, here's something your propagandists must have failed to point out to you:

Trump Proposes a Record $4.75 Trillion Budget

That was WAY BEFORE the pandemic.
And Covid had nothing to do with it, right?
Dumb ass

That's going to get worse as interest rates go up.

In fact, the yield curve just inverted, which is the most reliable indicator of an impending recession.
