How Many Slaves Did Blacks Own?

So what do the actual numbers of black slave owners and their slaves tell us? In 1830, the year most carefully studied by Carter G. Woodson, about 13.7 percent (319,599) of the black population was free. Of these, 3,776 free Negroes owned 12,907 slaves, out of a total of 2,009,043 slaves owned in the entire United States, so the numbers of slaves owned by black people over all was quite small by comparison with the number owned by white people. In his essay, "The Known World' of Free Black Slaveholders," Thomas J. Pressly, using Woodson's statistics, calculated that 54 (or about 1 percent) of these black slave owners in 1830 owned between 20 and 84 slaves; 172 (about 4 percent) owned between 10 to 19 slaves; and 3,550 (about 94 percent) each owned between 1 and 9 slaves. Crucially, 42 percent owned just one slave.

Pressly also shows that the percentage of free black slave owners as the total number of free black heads of families was quite high in several states, namely 43 percent in South Carolina, 40 percent in Louisiana, 26 percent in Mississippi, 25 percent in Alabama and 20 percent in Georgia. So why did these free black people own these slaves?

It is reasonable to assume that the 42 percent of the free black slave owners who owned just one slave probably owned a family member to protect that person, as did many of the other black slave owners who owned only slightly larger numbers of slaves. As Woodson put it in 1924's Free Negro Owners of Slaves in the United States in 1830, "The census records show that the majority of the Negro owners of slaves were such from the point of view of philanthropy. In many instances the husband purchased the wife or vice versa … Slaves of Negroes were in some cases the children of a free father who had purchased his wife. If he did not thereafter emancipate the mother, as so many such husbands failed to do, his own children were born his slaves and were thus reported to the numerators."

Moreover, Woodson explains, "Benevolent Negroes often purchased slaves to make their lot easier by granting them their freedom for a nominal sum, or by permitting them to work it out on liberal terms." In other words, these black slave-owners, the clear majority, cleverly used the system of slavery to protect their loved ones.

The other problem with the argument being made is that the government made slavery legal. Blacks did not.

But this ho is delusional. Slavery in America was worse than you think it was.

And since there is 160 more years of continued white abuses, the issue of reparations is not just about slavery. I find that in general, low educated stupid whites are unwilling to talk about the 160 years since slavery ended. And when whites start trying to make equvalences, they ignore at least 2 things that you have been shown repeatedly :

1. You're paying native americans reparations annually and that will not end as long as there is an America. Native American scouts helped whites in their relocation of various native tribes yet they get reparations and;

2. The Homestead Act that went from 1862 until 1934, gave away 246 million acres of land. Research shows that 99.73 percent of that land went to whites, to include white immigrants. 1.5 million white families were given free land or basically the equivalent of a minimum of $500,000 per family. Today 93 million whites still live on homestead land, that is at least 40 percent of the white population in America. That land has helped whites accumulate the wealth they have today.

This among many other things constitute reparations for whites. So whites here trying to make an agreement just need to drop the dumb shit.

Cash payments are not enough. We have had 7 generation of black people being terrorized and cash payments is not enough.

This is the reparations package that needs to be implemented is 3 things and more

1. Permanent representative seats everywhere

That means black people don't have run for office against white and non black people. We are automatically given a certain seats in the US senate, in the US congress and we are given certain of number state representative seats and two US supreme court justices and that must be for eternity.

We still vote for who we want there. But we don't have to fight white and non black people to get to congress. We don't have to fight to get the state legislator. So we have seats in the senate, in the supreme court, seats in the house and we get a certain amount presidential cabinet positions

Because if white people give black people money ? They will change the law tomorrow.

2. That 350 grand must be every 10 years foundational black American are given out.

We get 350 grand every ten years. According to white economic experts the wealth gap between white and black Americans is so wide that it could not be closed in the next 100 years.

3. Black should have TOTAL control over all black music and all black publishing for ever.

Now people may say "Hey !!! That's music and entertainment. Who cares ?"

That means we control the Motown, Michael Jackson, Prince, Whitney, Biggie, Pac catalogues. All of it.

Because all black music is controlled white people (Mainly Jews) that is

They run the record industry. Yeah sure, hip-hop artist like Jay Z, Drake, Kanye have their own record labels but they are owned and financed by one of the big four.
