Republicans Protect Rights of Terrorist Watch List To Own Weapons.

So, in their head long rush demand that President Obama "Do Something" about plossible terrorist acts in the U.S., the Republicans have decided that individuals on the Terrorist Watch List should be allowed to continue to purchase firearms in the U.S.

Second Amendment Rights and all that.

This is nothing more than another disingenuous political stunt by Democrats. What they really want is a national registry for all gun owners. The first step is to set up an apparatus that will allow for the screening of gun purchasers by the federal government to see if any are on the Terrorist Watch List. Once that is established, other categories can be added one by one until all gun purchases would require prior approval.

Then it would be possible for the federal government to target individuals and organizations for special treatment (IRS and all that), as well as releasing their names and addresses for political actions/boycotts (Left Wing activists and all that).

Just to be clear.

Without any real evidence to support a claim of being a "Suspected Terrorist", individuals on the "No-Fly List", can be denied their right to move freely within the U.S.....but owning firearms is must?

If one right can be denied without reason or qualification, why not another.

Oh Dear....Oh My....we must protect the Right To Keep and Bear Arms for individuals on the Terror Watch List. Heaven Forbid we should deny them their firearms.
But we must at all cost:

Force All Muslims To Wear a Badge.

Close all Mosques.

Create a Federal Database for all Muslims.

All of which is a direct and willful violation of the First Amendment Right To Freedom of Religion.

But when it comes to the people on Terror Watch List, their 2nd. Amendment Rights must be protected.

Which constitutional article guarantees being able to "move freely within the US"?

It should be obvious that only a court of law can deprive an American of their Constitutional rights. A "Terrorist Watch List" requires no such criteria. And may well simply be a matter of whim.

The Right to Freedom of Assembly is guaranteed by the First Amendment.

You have read the U.S. Constitution haven't you?

So, a possible terrorist can walk intto a sporting goods store (Big 5) or a Walmart type establishmen and purchase

If they are American citizens.
At minimum you don't hire 72 of them in your DHS.

The Freedom of Speech allows me to say what I want.

You have read the United States Constitutional Haven't you?

Uh, yeah, because the watch list has often been wildly inaccurate. Members of Congress and military members have erroneously appeared on the list.

Meanwhile, you guys wanna let 10,000 more Muslims into the country; you won't seal the border; you oppose every effort to improve border security; you've diluted our intel ops ability to detect potential terrorist activity on the Internet; and you won't even call radical Islamic terrorism radical Islamic terrorism. And you have the nerve to suggest that Republicans are the ones who are enabling jihadism simply because they oppose the same kinds of gun laws that proved worthless at preventing terrorism in France.

Congress Shall Make No Law Respecting An Establishment of Religion or The Free Exercise Thereof; or Abridging The Freedom of Speech, or of The Press; The Right of The People To Peacefully Assemble, and To Petition the Government For Redress of Grievances.

The Right To Peacefully Assemble includes the Right to travel from point A to point B without government interference. YOU have the right to leave your home to travel to your parents home, the home of a friend or other relative, to travel to and/or from work or on vacation.

You have read the U.S. Constitution Haven't You?

GOP blocks bill to stop terrorists from buying guns

Senate Republicans rejected a bill that aims to stop suspected terrorists from legally buying guns, on Thursday. The vote came a day after at least 14 people were killed during the San Bernardino massacre in California by two suspects, including a woman said to have pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Forty-five senators voted for the bill and 54 voted against it. One Democrat, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, and one Republican, Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois, crossed party lines.

The measure would have denied people on the terrorist watch list the ability to buy guns.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who sponsored the legislation, argued that former President George W. Bush initially proposed the legislation in 2007, and the Obama administration also supports it.

Thanks for more proof that W was a progressive

So, a person or person(s) unknown, can under the 2nd Amendment go into a sporting goods store (Big 5), or a Walmart type establishment or Gun Store and purchase a Shtotgun, Bolt-Action Rifle or revolver or a Semi-Automatic Pistol or Semi-Automatic Rifle and that is all kinds of fine, well, right and good.

That same person, cannot however get on an air-carrier and travel from city to another , from state to another. Which under the 1st. Amendment is an violation of their Right to Freedom of Assembly.

You are more than willing to allow possible terrorist to purchase a firearm because of the 2nd. Amendment.

You do not want that same person to travel because they might be a terrorist.

A possible terrorist can purchase a firearm and you want them to do that. You would allow them to do that. You would by your own inaction encourage them to do that. But at the same time because their name is on a list of possible terrorist suspects you do not want them to get on an airplane.

You would then blame President Obama if that happened.

Clear as the muddy water you drink.

Well, at least they're protecting someone's rights for a change; usually they're trying to take them away.

"Clear as the muddy water you drink." You could have said "koolaid". That might have conveyed their clarity of thought a little better.

Yes, this is funny.

For years now you and most others on the right have contrived and propagated lies about the president, Clinton, and scores of other democrats and 'liberals' absent any facts, evidence, or 'links,' that for a conservative now to demand proof is as ridiculous as it is amusing.

Define "possible terrorist"
This is still America, where one is innocent until proven guilty. merely being "suspected" of a crime is no reason to limit someone's rights. We're not even talking about someone that has been charged and awaiting trial!! You're talking about a mere SUSPICION!

How can anyone be okay with that?

What do you expect? They let Bin Laden go and stopped looking for him. No matter what they say, history will remember them for that.
