RIP General Adnan Al-Kaissie

Adnan and Slaughter committed an act of terrorism in the WWE locker room by firing a flamethrower in Hulk Hogan's face before kicking his behind.

Last week , AEW made a big stink about a little bit of pushing and shoving in their locker room, but they never had an atrocity like this.

Where The Iron Sheikh fit into all this? :auiqs.jpg:

Derp! He was The Iron Sheik.

Different wrestlers entirely. The Iron Sheik was under the tutelage of the Ayatollah from Iran, Adnan was an Iraqi. Neither is the same as the Sheik of Araby, sometime called the Original Sheik who was from the Syrian desert. All these guys were nuts, but all were very different.

He was also Billy WhiteWolf who tag-teamed with Jay Strong Bow and won the tag team championship.

Major military blunder by President George H.W. Bush not to capture General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa and that traitorous Sgt. Slaughter. What was he thinking??? Probably cost him the 1992 election. :dunno: ;)

Wrestling acts is where Don King got his inspiration for Cassius Clay's media persona. The bookies loved it when Cassius pissed off all the white racists and kept them betting against Clay. It was like printing money. The outrage was hilarious when he changed Clay's name to 'Muhammed Ali'.

You are right that Clay was exaggerating his personality to stir up the fans, but it wasn't Don King who invented the Ali persona.

Clay got his idea to become "Ali" from Classy Freddie Blassie, an old school wrestler who knew how to stir up the fans.

People paid for years to see Clay get his comeuppance, although they were usually disappointed.
