But sure, happy to educate you, peaches. In my industry, there are many perfectly proper regulations that protect consumers from unscrupulous financial advisors. The same holds true in the insurance industry, and the regulations there that have required significantly improved suitability confirmation on products such as fixed indexed annuities have been helpful across the board.

Let's see. There are so many!

Regulations that require proper licensing and ongoing training/education in any number of fields, from medicine to banking to food.

Regulations that require financial institutions to maintain, for example, leverage limits and those that enforce reserve requirements. Regulations that require airlines to maintain proper safety standards. Regulations on the purity of food and accuracy of advertising. Regulations on fraud and abuse in advertising.
