Rubbish!
The fact is indisputable. Name one thing it does that isn't based on force.
Trade negotiations?
You clearly know nothing about trade negotiations.

Trade negotiations?
Has Obama said that?
Uh, yeah, Einstein. That would be what "everyone should go to college" means: that only college is valid and worthwhile.
Just how obtuse and illiterate are you willing to make yourself appear in service to Obama, anyway?
It's perhaps revealing that you use Einstein as an insult in a thread about education.
Did he say?everyone should go to college

What it just revealed is that you don't recognize sarcasm when it drops on your head like a cartoon anvil.

In my experience, a person with a PhD is extremely well-educated . . . in one narrow field. And they tend to be unable to wipe their own asses without a diagram and instructions from Houston Control otherwise. There's a reason why universities employ slews of secretaries and assistants: so they can bring the PhDs in out of the rain so they don't drown.
You are about as naive and gullible as they come if you believe that.
My father earned his PHD after he was a Captain USMC in WWII. He landed at Tinnian and Saipan, took those islands and his troop carrier was hit by a kamikazee offloading his troops at Okinawa.
He received his PHD in education at Cornell in 1948 and was called back for active duty for Korea as he was in the reserves. He taught college many years and worked for the College Etrance Examination Board. One of the things he did was go into high schools in Alabama and Tennessee and make sure blacks were allowed to take the SAT as they were banned from it. He and Ben Cameron and Ben Gibson. Look it up. Those dudes were scared of NO ONE.
Dad lettered in 4 sports in 1939-42 at Guilford College before he went to the Pacific.
He and most of other folks that I know that have a PHD do and have done the ass kicking and take names doing it.
You have it ass backerds on this one.
You listen to Rush and Sean too much. Hint: THEY LIE FOR RATINGS.
Cecilie's suggestion that educated people are unable to operate on a practical level is often raised as a self-defence mechanism to compensate for their own feelings of inadequacy.
I've seen it many times.
Her use of 'Einstein' as a pejorative just confirms it.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that, Illiteracy Lad. Whatever keeps the gun barrel out of your mouth.

Santorum is planning ahead to a future where we need uneducated Americans to work for less than minimum wage in order to keep the 1% comfy.
Obama is wanting to compete on the world stage. He's remembering a time when parents wanted their children to have a better life than hey had and he wants to see that USA strong again. He wants to go from 22% of our students graduating from college to something more like the figure that Norway and North Korea enjoy. President Obama must be stopped from this horrid future of education and intelligence he has for us.
Santorum is right. We'll always be able to work for Norwegians or North Koreans. And, heck, for those who aren't lucky enough to get those cushy jobs, they can always work as greeters at WalMart or burger flippers at McDonald's. No doubt about it, Santorum is just trying to make sure we all have jobs in the future.
No, college is a place of higher education and you should prove that you deserve to be there. Liberals just want to hand everything to everyone. IMO, there are far too many unqualified people attending college.Does 100% of the population need to attend college?
Yes, due to the leftists education policies.Good grief, this couintry is in deep trouble.
The point is not college for all. The point is the OPPORTUNITY to attend college should be available to anyone.Santorum is planning ahead to a future where we need uneducated Americans to work for less than minimum wage in order to keep the 1% comfy.

Norway and North Korea? That's the system the President would like to see? Are you calling the President a Marxist? Tsk, tsk.
It's interesting to see the Obamabots rebuttals here. It's either "College for All" is a terrific idea, and anyone who disagrees is a stupid, racist, nutjob. Or: Obama does not want that, and anyone who says so is a stupid, racist, nutjob.
Or: We need to be more like North Korea.
USMB can be so entertaining.

How depressing.

No, on the evidence to date, I'd say that anyone that says the president is calling for college for everyone is a stupid nutjob.
Ill take it back if someone can show me a quote otherwise.
President Obama issued a powerful challenge to his own administration and to individual citizens Tuesday night, calling on every American to "commit" to attending at least one year of college so that the country can reclaim its mantle as the best educated nation in the world.
"[W]e will provide the support necessary for you to complete college and meet a new goal: by 2020, America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world," the president said in his first speech to a joint session of Congress.
"But whatever the training may be, every American will need to get more than a high school diploma," he continued.
The other part of the equation is impressing on individual citizens the importance of getting an education and making clear that going to college is not only possible, but necessary.
And on that score, Hartle said, "it's hard to imagine a more forceful argument" than Obama made Tuesday.

You are quite the stubborn one. Here is an article from Inside Higher Ed.

How depressing.
What's "depressing" about it?
Consider an analogy. Tigers are dangerous animals. There's nothing depressing about that. it's just a fact that you have to consider whenever you have any dealings with tigers. The same goes for government. Of course, those who want to keep tigers as house pets and those who want to use government to solve every social problem find the facts "depressing."

Translate it however you like, it's pointless arguing your contention when your starting point is that it's an immutable fact.
