There has been a concerted attempt lately to try to downplay the negative aspects of sharia law in order to mainstream its acceptance into Western legal systems. I think it's important to show the reality of what sharia law entails in order for a wider audience to fully grasp its ramifications. For example, why do we no longer sacrifice animals to Jehovah? The answer is quite simple. Christ is the Lamb who was sacrificed to atone for all our sins.
The law of Moses required many animal sacrifices, but because of the sacrificial death of Jesus, the sacrifices are no longer required.
