Since we believe that men and woman are equal

Since we believe that men and woman are equal. Why can't both sexes compete against each other in sports and why shouldn't all sports be made co-ed? Equality is winning or losing based on one merit.

A real equal society would design its sports around such concepts.

I do not think you understand what the word "equal" means.

We don't believe this. Only those who deny biology and live in the world of make-believe promote and pretend any of this is true. Clearly it is to appeal to 3% of the voters since they never really go forth and promote unisex leagues.

Well, yes most people do believe that men and women are equal. They are not the same, but they are equal. One is not better than the other.

Nonsense. First of all men and women are NOT equal. Men are predisposed to things while women are predisposed to people. That is why most men are in STEM fields and most women are in health care. Egalitarian societies in Scandinavia have shown that promoting gender equality increases sexual differences. IOW men and women are structured differently physically and mentally and will, by and large, choose careers that reflect those differences. You won't find many women working on septic tank cleaning and you won't find many men working in nail salons.

Being different is not the same as not being equal.

Men and women ARE equal, even though they are different from each other.

Neither has more value than the other.

Is that why several college WOMEN athletes are speaking out AGAINST this crap? You really don't keep up with things do you?

Several??? How many? I found 12 current and former student athletes who have filed suite to keep trans athletes out of the NCAA. 12 - not all of them currently competing.

There are more than 250,000 female athletes in the NCAA. There are fewer than 100 trans athletes in the NCAA, and none are at the "elite" level.

The amount of bullshit being slung that this a real problem is unbelievable.

You aren't discussing "equality", you're discussing physiology.
I am discussing equality within sports. Men competing against women in sports.

In this context, in most physcial endeavours men will have an innate, G-d given advantage due to testosterone.

"Equality in sports" isn't men completing against women. Equality in sports is women receiving equal PAY for competing.

Equality is about civil rights, not sports.

They can compete against each other.
After they all tryout, all the women will be eliminated.
Instead of co-ed sports, it would just be men's sports.

No. Equal pay in sports will occur when they achieve equal revenue. This can't be that difficult can it?

Sell the tickets at the same price as mens professional sports. Sell the jerseys at the same prices and in the same volume. Charge the same for advertisements.

If corporate media want equal salaries, they should tell their corporate bosses to demand they pay the same rates for advertisements.

People in sports are paid based upon the revenue the sports brings in broken down by how many players there are.

NBA players are paid more on average than NFL players even though the NFL brings in far more money....but they have far more players to pay. NHL players are paid less than both of those due to lower revenues.

Women in sports should also get paid based on the revenue they bring in.

Except that US women's soccer brings in WAY more revenue than the American men's team, and yet, the men are still paid more money than the women.

This year, the Women's NCAA Final had higher ratings than the Men's game.

That would solve a lot of problems.
And create more. Hey, let's put a convicted male rapist in a cell with a female who can't get away. What could possibly go wrong?

BULLSHIT. People in sports are paid on the basis of how much television revenue their sport brings in. It's why "small market teams" have less money. Fewer viewers. Fewer fans to buy tickets or merchandise, fewer television viewers, and less national news coverage.

Teams in big media centres - New York, LA, Chigago, Toronto, gets lots of media attention and have lots more money to throw around.

Tennis is the highest paid sport in the world.

Period, End of story.

The men's World Cup is the most widely viewed televised event in the history of televised events. The women's Cup does not generate nearly the same interest. The men's Cup, therefore, has much more prize money to distribute. It's just economics.

Ratings does not equate to ad revenue.

Furthermore, there is probably complex revenue sharing for the mens World Cup which is exponentially more bigger globally as the womens game, like in hockey; guarantees the same countries in the end for the most part whereas the mens World Cup is far more competitive globally.

If they deserve the pay they should demand it. This comes down to corporations and other revenue streams not just naked ratings.
