Single payer system within 7 years

Single payer is rationed care. It is managed death. It's one way to deal with the poor and immigrants.

On Fox News, Charles Krauthammer predicts America will have single-payer health care within 7 years

The recent passage of a tweak on Obamacare by the GOP is viewed with disdain by pretty much everyone, just like when the Dims passed Obamacare and were rounded up and thrown out of office.

According to some, however, this will only lead to a single payer in a very short time.

The GOP acted like a bunch of Dims yesterday as they tweaked, not repealed, Obamacare. They were not even very sure what was in the bill, Nancy Pelosi style. They did not even wait for a CBO analysis of what exactly they were voting for. Then they all went to the White House to celebrate like a bunch of retards. Of course, the main objective in Washington is simply to "get things done" that work 100%, 100% of the time for 100% of the population. This is nothing short of a socialist mentality. And since socialism is nothing but a never ending quest for the unattainable, the drum beat will continue for a single payer system

Couldn't agree more. And the Dems breathed a huge sigh of relief when that bill passed the house, because they know the Repubs now own healthcare and all the shit to come.
The GOP doesn't own anything yet. The Senate will devour that pathetic bill and what comes out the other side will look completely different.

And besides that the DEMOCRATS are solely responsible for this mess because they SINGLE HANDIDLY CREATED IT.
How did they do THAT?

CBO has CONSISTENTLY scored ACA deficit neutral.....they only had to qualify their original glowing reports after Yahoo idiots insisted on not participating (of course several, at the state level, would eventually see the light), and to sabotage perfectly well designed elements by withholding resources.

For all the dire clap trap you've been told by FOX, medical professionals who analyze health care policy were quite pleased with numerous outcomes. It was even cited by the Medicare Trustees as a reason for the extension of the programs "viability horizon".....

The "mess" is a result of Congressional Loudmouths not having the wherewithal to even PROPOSE a meaningful alternative over the course of 7 years.

CBO has CONSISTENTLY scored ACA deficit neutral.....

Was that based on a couple of years of tax receipts before the spending began?
I love fake numbers like that!

No kidding, why did the debt double during the BO years?
Bucktooth,

I'm gonna do you a solid so that you don't go through the rest of your life as pathetically stupid as you are now....

a) it didn't.......At the end of FY 2009 the Gross Debt stood at 11.875 Trillion........at the end of FY 2016 it stood at 19.5....unless you anticipate a monster deficit and a bumper crop of Social Security payments (a highly unlikely twofer), we ain't getting to 23.75 by Sept. 30 of this year..........Unless The Yam decides to buy another casino with OPM.

b) as a likely recidivist supply side voting imbecile (an unavoidable conclusion judging by your avatar and handle) you MUST acquaint yourself with the concept of Structural Deficit......

I love how you've been trained to reject everything you don't want to hear as "fake"...like that....

But why would the CBO ever put up "fake numbers", even under a Director appointed by a Republican Congress? This, after a commendable effort on the part of republicans at every level, to sabotage the outcome.

I love how you've been trained to reject everything you don't want to hear as "fake"...

Counting 5 years of revenues versus 3 years of spending isn't fake?
What do you call it?

But why would the CBO ever put up "fake numbers",

Garbage in, garbage out.
Why don't you link me to the source for this 5/3 Assault on Our National Maidenhead?

Garbage in, garbage out.

The workings of the CBO are a complete mystery to you, aren't they.....

We probably won't have universal single payer where all doctors work for the government and all hospitals are owned by the government. It might be more like Australia where the poor have just basic services. The better doctors and hospitals will be private. It might work. The government employed doctors will be either very lazy, like Kaiser doctors or barely holding on to a license. Student doctors could fill in the gap and get training. It's no great loss if a student operates on an indigent.

Single payer healthcare. And then the nightmare conservatives have been dreading for a hundred years.

Everyone gets to see a doctor.

Oh the Horror!

If it worked as you say, it would be great. It doesn't!

Hey, do you pay federal income taxes? If you do, are you voluntarily paying MORE since it is a wonderful idea in the world according to you leftists-)

Single Payer .. Medicare for ALL

the 65 and over crowd already has single payer ...

the rub..

only the more affluent will face a slight TAX increase.

can't have that shit now can we ?
Medicare doesn't work. If you want to see a real doctor you still have to go outside medicare.

single payer is just like Medicare.

Single payer—or Medicare for All, as it's sometimes referred to in the U.S.—is a system in which all healthcare financing is provided by one entity, such as (but not always) the federal government. All residents receive core coverage regardless of income, occupation, or health status.

The U.S. is one of the only countries in the developed world that does not have such a system in place, but in other countries, like Canada, the care itself is still provided by private organizations and doctors, or a combination of public and private organizations, like Spain and Australia. In the United Kingdom, care is accessed through public providers, but additional private care can be purchased. But that care—everything from hospital visits to prescription drugs to mental health care—is covered for all residents by the state, via taxes determined by the state.

As long as not every one is on single payer, like Australia or Germany it would work, after a fashion. I have medicare. I would get better treatment from a witch doctor. The "doctor " is absentee with a physician's assistant manning the office. I have to diagnose the problem and researched out the medication in order to get anything resembling care. Otherwise I have to just find a doctor, a real doctor and pay out of pocket. I can usually negotiate both bill and lab fees down for cash.

If single payer is medicare, the funeral homes will be crowded.

Would you list the advanced industrialized nations who deliver health care to a smaller percentage of their population, at a higher cost, with inferior results.....and I'm gonna want sources.

Medicare depends on the Dr.

my Mother has had good, bad, and excellent care ,,

Bullshit. The day this country goes to SP will see the largest tax hike in history on EVERYBODY. Either that or the largest deficits in history.

Right now some private doctors will accept medicare as a percentage of their practice. Usually 10% although some doctors will keep it down to 5%. The doctor might be good, or not.

Single-payer national health insurance, also known as “Medicare for all,” is a system in which a single public or quasi-public agency organizes health care financing, but the delivery of care remains largely in private hands. Under a single-payer system, all residents of the U.S. would be covered for all medically necessary services, including doctor, hospital, preventive, long-term care, mental health, reproductive health care, dental, vision, prescription drug and medical supply costs.

The program would be funded by the savings obtained from replacing today’s inefficient, profit-oriented, multiple insurance payers with a single streamlined, nonprofit, public payer, and by modest new taxes based on ability to pay. Premiums would disappear; 95 percent of all households would save money. Patients would no longer face financial barriers to care such as co-pays and deductibles, and would regain free choice of doctor and hospital. Doctors would regain autonomy over patient care.

Kinda like the VA? I think you are somewhat detached from reality if you're believing all the crap that some on the Left is pushing out there. All you gotta do is look at what's going on in other countries, many of which are having fiscal problems with HC and the other social safety net programs.

Do you remember when Obama and the Dems told us how the ACA wouldn't add one thin dime to the national debt? And when they told us if you like your plan you can keep your plan? Or your doctor? It was all lies, just to get their law passed and they knew damn well it was a lie to begin with. And now you want me to believe SP would be the long sought panacea for health care? Sorry, been down that road too many times, I don't believe a word of it.

Unless the government intends to jail doctors who don't work for the government there will still be private insurance or concierge. That will be the best level of care.

People who think that they will get all those treatments, tests and medications on medicare for all are dreaming. It's not going to happen. Every day there are commercials for psoriasis medications. Medicare won't pay for a single one. Not one. Go to the drug store and find something over the counter. Medications are taken off the permitted list or transferred to a higher copay all the time.

Medicare still approves treatments and doctor's appointments. It won't be the free for all you imagine it will be.

Whine all you want cons, the future belongs to the kind. The past belongs to the selfish. Go find the little house on the prairie and die from a broken leg.
