Looks like Trump won't be able to post a $500,000,000 bond.

That means Letitia James can take possession of all of Trump's assets.

Will Trump lose everything but Mar-a-Lago? (I think Desantis would keep NY out of FL.)

Couldn't he go Monty Python and sell one or more of his children ... oh wait, they're worthless. (I had to, Low Hanging Fruit. I apologize to the board)

The government doesn't want Trump's property. They want the money, but everything Trump has is mortgaged to the hilt.

This isn't unconstitutional at all. Crime has consequences.
I can make a logical argument that the law is unconstitutional for vagueness. BUT, factually, Trump flat out lied about stuff like sq footage and restrictions on his deeds, so I can see how the law could be const under the specific facts. That is, he lied in Trumpian fashion, and got his tiny hands smacked. lol

Well, golly gee. If N.Y. is so bsd why did Trump live here most of his life as a developer? And why is Trump soiling himself over not being able to do bidness in N.Y. for 3 years if it's such a rotten place to do so? Hmmmm?
Too much! That is “Scanners” level of dissonance for them.
.

Oh, I know. The idea that the "business climate" is clean in NY is laughable.

Many years ago I had to go to NYC to troubleshoot a big excavation. It was an entire city block on lower Manhattan, I don't recall what building was going up- this was back around '82-'83. The excavation was about 40 feet below street level.

The company was the second largest construction company in New York. I won't say the name, but everyone went by Petey, or Paulie, or Guido, you get the idea. You don't get to be the second largest construction company in NY without being connected...

They would excavate the rock from the construction site on one contract, and truck it about 2 miles to the Hudson, where they sold it back to the city to shore up the river bank. Got paid to dig it out, and paid again to dump it, lol.

All the more reason to fly below the radar.

The judge appointed a manager.

A New York state judge on Thursday ordered an independent monitor to oversee the Trump Organization's financial statements after it was alleged that the company has been vastly overstating its assets.

State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron signed off on a preliminary injunction that also blocks former President Donald Trump's company from transferring assets without court approval. In his ruling, Engoron said the company must also make the monitor aware of all its holdings and assets and give 30 days’ notice of any restructuring at the company and any plans for "disposing or refinancing of significant Trump Organization assets." (Supreme Court is the name of New York state’s top trial court.)
