South Dakota Resisted Shutdown, Now It's a Hotspot

As of press time, all but one of Washington’s 39 counties, most of them rural, had reported Covid-19 cases. Nationwide, more than two-thirds of rural counties had confirmed cases as of April 6, a New York Times analysis found, and across rural America, the per capita infection rate “was more than double what it was six days earlier.” That’s as fast as or faster than recent increases in Chicago, Miami, Boston, Los Angeles and New York. The country’s highest Covid-19 rate is in Blaine County, Idaho, home to 22,277 residents and the Sun Mountain ski resort.

Wake up folks. That's how it started here.

South Dakota has less than 1,000 cases and 6 fucking deaths.

What a load of bullshit MarcATL

I've noticed you've loaded the board with other bullshit threads too.

I've responded asking for proof on a couple of them. And, well, I'm still waiting.
As is the case with this coronavirus -- comments like these don't age well at all....

I will keep reading to see if there is any admission of wrong on your part.....doubt it tho...

Those were the facts then.

As of today, they are still ast 6 deaths.

Please tell me why the fuck you care about South Dakota when New York registered 11,500 new cases and is double digit percentage of the entire world deaths ?
Because BEFORE you delusional muthafuckas acknowledged those numbers in New York -- yall were claiming this virus wasn't that bad and blah blah..

Now that you can attack New York as saying "oh, that's because its Democrats" -- that bullshit don't sound the same when its places like South Dakota dealing with it...

Please make your point.

1. I agree that many were saying no big deal early on. That included the leadership of New York. So it wasn't y'all. It was everyone.
2. Nobody is attacking New York. The fact is that New York has gotten sick. IMO the pandemic numbers are not worth the current panic and shutdown we are in. But the fact is that New York did not shut down and in some cases...still has not shut down.
3. As has been documented, there are places that are practicing caution but not "shutting down" and are not having an apocolyptic event. They are taking risks.
4. As has been documented, some places are under lockdown, but people are not following it. Their results to follow.
5. We know the models that we keep hearing are like shooting stars. They flash, fade and are followed by another one. They've all been wrong and nobody knows what the fuck to think anymore.
6. I just checked...South Dakota is showing 6 deaths.....like it has for a while. That number could jump to 50 and you (along with your fellow baboons) will go insane. But it hasn't. And you and your fellow baboons are still going insane. BUT IT COULD. A lot of things "could" happen.
7. Just checked....New York showing 600 new deaths today.

WHY THE FUCK ARE WE TALKING ABOUT SOUTH DAKOTA ?

Everyone has cases.

Just what do you want people to do when they have 10 cases total in their counties ?

Shut down ? Seriously.

NOBODY is saying forget this thing exists......so you can cut that shit out now.

The exponential rise of cases in SD has began. Heck of a job, Kristi.

‘It Really Is the Perfect Storm’: Coronavirus Comes for Rural America

“One of the negatives of living in a rural community is you think it protects you somehow,” says Leibrand, who for years has also been the health officer—a sort of local surgeon general—of the county, a sprawling expanse of rich alluvial farmland, exurban bedroom communities and steep Cascade peaks midway between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia. “We get a little bit cavalier, a little lazy about social distancing.” On April 1, Governor Kristi Noem of South Dakota—one of five states, all in the central heartland, without stay-at-home orders—defended her decision to leave South Dakotans “free to exercise their rights to work, to worship, and to play” by saying, “South Dakota is not New York City, and our sense of personal responsibility, our resiliency and our already sparse population density put us in a great position to manage this virus” without resorting to the “draconian” measures taken elsewhere.

Complacency is fast fading, however, as rural residents realize that, far from being immune, they may be uniquely vulnerable when the epidemic reaches them. Even as Noem spoke, Covid-19 was spreading at a Sioux Falls meatpacking plant that subsequently closed after more than 300 workers fell sick, and local officials across the state begged her to issue shutdown and shelter-in-place orders."

Happy Easter berg...oh I forgot. Sorry.

Anyhow SD has had a total of 6 deaths. NYC which did institute draconian measures has had 16000.

Care to apply some Pharisee logic there?

Is this your definition of “exponential? Yesterday 180 new cases. Today 143. In what world is that exponential growth?

At some point you have to ask yourself what agenda is behind this coordinated, relentless push by the media to panic the population.

It’s obvious the destruction of the US economy in service of (1) defeating Trump (2) punishing Americans for electing him and (3) advancing a laundry list of the communist ideas they have been waiting to impose.

Liberals, rejected over and over, impose their edicts through crisis and fear and secondly through court decisions.

What a crock of shit.

Interesting that you understand that Trump's abysmal performance will hurt his re-election chances

The funny thing is...in times like these, a President USUALLY gets a HUGE bump. Bush went up to over 90% approval

All Trump had to do was stay quiet and let the "adults" do the heavy lifting...and he'd be a hero

Instead we have you....lamely and desperately defending him

Any reason to defeat Trump and make the citizens suffer can and will be used. If we don't get with the "program" then it will be removed. The problem is the "program" has a shelf life before payment is due. The genius thing about this is that the elitists of the world don't lose much of anything as we pay for our own failures. We fund our own demise!

In fairness..comparing 9/11 and this crisis, regarding popularity..doesn't work for me..because of the essential difference in the attitude of the people. 9/11 galvanized us....This pandemic....polarizes us. As indeed every event in the last 10 years has...with ever increasing intensity. Our enemies use this to their advantage..or at least they have thus far.

Trump cannot stay silent while great events transpire..he is the star..and the star does not share the limelight! Trump missed a huge opportunity here..and never knew it. He could have played the great conciliator....offering the States...Blue and Red..the olive branch and humbly offered the full help of the US..,letting the States take the lead...But Trump don't do humble. Pity, for his fans....he would have won the White House again in a walk!

“As governors across the country fell into line in recent weeks, South Dakota’s top elected leader stood firm: There would be no statewide order to stay home,” the Washington Post reports.

LOL … Taegan Goddard? As of 15 minutes ago S Dakota had a total of - drum roll, please - 7 Chinavirus deaths since it landed.
That's seven.
7.
Siete.

FFS you leftards will swallow anything … absolutely anything … because you are STUPID.

No way SD should be on any lockdown. Anyone who has ever been there knows this. You can drive an hour and see no civilization.

His performance won’t hurt him in the slightest. He still has the same support he has always had. But it’s interesting that your hatred for him hasn’t changed though you do hope to take advantage of a virus.
It’s a true statement that what’s bad for America is good for Democrats. And vice versa.

“In times like these” is just a cliche. There have never been times like these. The elites simply ramped up their attacks and you serfs followed along. It in hope that the Chinese role here won’t be noticed...your masters.

Berg-stein Claimed an “exponential growth.” He was hoping and wishing.

By “here” you mean the place that claimed it’s hospitals were overwhelmed? That 30000 ventilators were needed when you maxed out at 5000? Where a hospital ship sent has 22 beds filled?
Where Donald Trump raises your property taxes? Oops...that was your state officials. They just told you it was Donald Trump and then laughed at you.

You can't claim it's not with only 2 data points. Can you provide more to prove your point?
