I doubt that the heads here have the time to specifically research each and every element themselves. They have to rely on the work of others and if there is no known previous inaccuracies on file then, yes. I agree the head does ultimately get the blame and punishment for his people’s shenanigans. Comey is a different matter as he relied on his agents to interview Hillary (when he said he would personally), which was done without recording it or under oath.

Despite the assessment and despite the fact that Steele was a known foreign spy who was working with Russians on the creation of the dossier, the FBI still paid him / worked with him, using his dossier to obtain FISA warrants.

Year 2? Mueller wasn't appointed until last May I believe.

Moreover, Mueller was appointed after Comey was fired and the letter authorizing his investigation specifies he was to continue Comey's investigation. The original fraudulent application for a surveillance warrant was made under Comey, so Mueller had access to this information and if he based his investigations on anything that came from this surveillance, he is a late co conspirator in these crimes. In addition, the letter empowers him to investigate and prosecute any crimes he comes across during his primary investigation, which would include the FBI committing perjury to obtain a warrant, so his failure to do so suggests either incompetence or a lack of integrity; either way, he is clearly unfit to continue his investigation until it is determined he is not guilty of complicity in these crimes.

Any patriotic citizen, regardless of party affiliation, will find the revelations in the memo very disturbing. Essentially, we're talking about two major crimes: One, senior officials in the FBI and DOJ allowed a Dem-funded hit piece--the Steele dossier--to be used as the main justification for wiretapping a member of Trump's campaign staff. Two, the FBI and the DOJ never informed the FISA judge that they were using an oppo-research dossier that was paid for by the Democrats; they led the judge to believe that the dossier was their own product, which in turn led the judge to assume that its information had been adequately vetted.

This makes Watergate look like child's play.

· Andrew McCabe confirmed that no FISA warrant would have been sought from the FISA Court without the Steele dossier information.


· The political origins of the Steele dossier were known to senior DOJ and FBI officials, but excluded from the FISA applications.


· DOJ official Bruce Ohr met with Steele beginning in the summer of 2016 and relayed to DOJ information about Steele's bias. Steele told Ohr that he, Steele, was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected president and was passionate about him not becoming president.
