Ted Cruz Proposes Amendment To Vote Out Supreme Court Justices

This is typical of the right wing..

Oh, its like a thief assuming everyone is trying to steal from him. You get such a lovely window into what the right really really wants to do....but why they accuse the left of wanting.
I would like to see the right wing provide ONE successful example of any of their ideas regarding cutting social programs, lowering taxes on the rich, not allowing gays to marry, limiting voting rights, never raising wages.. Oh wait, the majority of industrialized countries, actually, would be considered "radically socialist" to the right wing in america, you see, are democratic party is essentially the centre-right party of most industrialized countries, and the republicans? Oh jeez..

"To challenge that "judicial activism," Cruz said he is proposing a constitutional amendment to require Supreme Court justices to face retention elections every eight years."

This is unmitigated idiocy – Cruz is exhibiting his comprehensive ignorance of the law, and contempt for the rule of law.

Cruz is the son of a gusano , so no suprise

And his contempt for our Founders.

See Federalist #76.

Wrong, contempt for the founders is doing whatever the hell you want with a pen and a phone. Cruz is making a proposal IAW the US Constitution. See the difference?

How many amendments has he proposed now? You've got to realize that this is going no where.

Not the point, he's proposing going through the system the right way, contrary to your dear leaders unilateral actions.

He's proposing irrelevance. Like he pretty much always does. With the exception of his brief moment in the sun in shutting the government down in 2013, he's one of the least influential men in Washington. With virtually none of his policies actually enacted.

Either that or the simpler method...change their mandate and place more judges on the Supreme Court.....as FDR threatened when they stood in his way.....both are within the power of congress.......

That's an option. Another would be for congress to limit the scope of what the court can rule on. That's totally within their power.

It doesn't change any past decisions. But it does limit any future ones.

Really, name another president that has exempted a whole class of criminals from prosecution and issued ssn's and work permits in direct contradiction to law. No hurry, I'll wait.

It was Cruz's baby. With his allies describing themselves as 'giddy' at the shut down. With Cruz promising that the defunding of Obamacare with the shutdown would be easy. And demanding that the GOP continue the shutdown.

Oh, he burned so many bridges with that move. Which is why he's been sidelined, shut out of any role of significance or decision making in the GOP. He bulled the shutdown through, dropped the GOP approval ratings to the lowest of any party....ever. And got exactly dick accomplished. If you're going to force your will down the throat of your own party, you damn well better be competent enough to win.

And Cruz wasn't.

And since then, Cruz has gotten nothing. Not even table scraps. He's passed no bills, had no significant policy victories, done....nothing.

Which is exactly where he should be.

Yeah...and he did so bad the Republicans won more seats at the state and federal level that they hadn't won in about 100 years.........I wonder how many offices they would win if he did it again....

Yes...it can.....this Supreme Court changed all the rules.....with more judges they can take the right cases and then simply mandate according to what they want done....Precedent has bee established for doing that.....

Republicans did far better when they put Cruz's nose in the corner than they did when they listened to him. His government shut down was an mitigated disaster for the GOP. It gained them nothing, embarrassed them publicly, and sent their approval ratings to the lowest level ever recorded for a major party.

A record they hold to this day. All because of Cruz.

And ignoring Cruz, the GOP does better. Which is why no one really gives a shit what Cruz has to say. Not inside his party. Not outside it.

How about you go out and run a business for a few years, sign the front of a few thousand paychecks and get back to me.

Useless deflection, since you know right wing ideology has only screwed the working class.
