However, the more sensible ship-launched SM-3 anti-ballistic-missile-missile does work. That has zilch to do with Reagan, being the SM-3 is an evolution of the old SM-2. And the program was fully embraced by the Obama administration.

I read a wide variety of sources, both left and right.

I did this when I was more consevative as well.

What changed my mind was not anything I read. It was when my Romney-loving boss fired me after six years of loyal service because I had run up a lot of medical bills on the company's insurance. When I pointed out his actions were morally wrong and probably illegal, he announced, "Well, good thing this isn't a union shop!"

Second- What China has isn't "Free Markets". You can't do a start up in China and start your own companies. If you really want to find a historical comparison, it would be Fascist Italy or Nazi Germany- The State franchises which cronies get to run which markets. China's model is to let foreign companies come in, set up factories, and produce a lot of stuff for export that most of their people could never dream of owning.

There are some merits to "Free Markets", as long as labor is empowered and working people are compensated fairly.

China is not an example of that. In fact, China is developing a growing wealth disparity that is going to bite them in the ass. Which is why the Governmetn has started cracking down on people who flash their wealth...
