I have no idea who you say had documents or ideas. The only nation that had anythign was Britain. They had the "Rule of Law" and the "Magna Carta". Those rights were crude and very limited. People still did not get treated that well. But they were treated better then most others in the world. When the new world was discovered, two continents could have had any areas become the most prosperous. The area that was to become the United States won the battle. It had as the original settlers, the Rule of Law and Magna Carta thinking in them. That was like nirvana compared to the rest of the Western Hemisphere.
