In fiscal year 2018, tax receipts on corporate income fell to $205 billion from $297 billion in 2017.

This is what I call Ray from Cleveland's Raccoon Theory:

You see a raccoon digging in your garbage can, so you go into the house and fetch the rest of that ham you were going to throw away anyway. The animal eats in delight. Now give it about 20 seconds and try to take that ham back from the animal and see what happens.

Politicians (particularly from the left) are well aware of my Raccoon Theory. They may refer to it in other ways, but the point is once you give something to somebody, it's virtually impossible to ever take it away; at least without getting your hand bit up. Because they now feel it's owed to them.

SS benefits were designed to support people in their elderly years. When created, most families had a male who went to work and a female to stay home with the kids. If the male passed away before his time, the female got his SS check.

Today we have people making 150K a year combined, and it works the same way. When one of the couple passes away, the other gets a portion of his or her check.

That's one way we could cut SS. We don't need a spouse to receive more SS money even though they have an account of their own. The only people that should be allowed that are those who were dependents of their spouse.

Democrats don't care about debt as long as they can still send baby killing money to Planned Parenthood, have PBS and NPR funded by the taxpayers.

The problem is Democrats never have to give up anything. They just threaten to shutdown the government and that's the end of that. So the real problem is we need a 60 vote Senate to cut THEIR spending without that worry.

They are at fault? You and the Republicans are just as responsible as Democrats. You want 60 votes so Republicans don't have to cut their priorities.
