The rise of Trump explained

“The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.”

- Charles Bukowski

According to Jonathan Gruber, that would also explain passage of the ACA.

Unfortunately for you, you'll find on election night that average Americans are sick and tired of you.

Unfortunately... given that I'll almost certainly be voting for the HildaBeast, oh-so-reluctantly, I have no idea whom you're referring to.

But you can dream, little one... yes, you can dream... Hopey-Changey... Hopey-Changey... Hopey-Changey...

What part of "According to Sen. Kerry's account" didn't you understand, eh dim bulb?

Because, Idiot, when he was recommended for the Bronze Star he would be interviewed about the event....

Rassman recommended Kerry for a Silver Star. Based on such an officer's recommendation, lacking testimony to the contrary, as Kerry already had this award from a previous incident, he was awarded a Bronze Star with Combat V, instead.

You've put a bit of distance between you and the new buck....

Your quoting a Wikipedia article, nitwit. Those are about as credible as Hillary's testimony about her emails.

I suggest you challenge the objectivity of that entry.......should you choose to do so, the editors you so glibly malign will note that it is under challenge.....

Then try to do the same with Bripat's sources.....
You mean the editors I am challenging will publicly show they are being challenged? LOL

Yeah right.

Oftentimes I have less of a qualm with the actual initial content than the editors remarks themselves.
Yes. They do.....

Why don't you provide an example of what offends you?

SO-CALLED “WAR HERO” JOHN KERRY A FRAUD

In earlier articles on this web site we have revealed the specious Silver Star (with “V” device) that Kerry allegedly won. First of all, there is no such decoration in any of the five branches of the U.S. Military.

The Silver Star does not have a “V” device (for valor) like the Bronze Star does. Yet that award is listed on the DD214 that Kerry was supposed to review and sign for accuracy. That it was displayed on his campaign web site indicates he should have, if he didn’t already, know such a listing was false and inaccurate.

Yet, the curious Kerry documents contain even more signs of falsification and fraud.

Kerry credits himself with earning four battle stars attached to his Vietnam Service Medal. Every Nam vet knows those battle stars denote various “campaigns” the recipient had to have participated in to be able to legally wear them.

Since Kerry was in Vietnam only 120 days, it would be impossible for him to have accumulated so many of the stars due to lack of time, but, what the heck! Maybe the Massachusetts senator thought “four battle stars” sounds and looks better than two.

“Yeah, that’s the ticket,” Kerry perhaps said to himself. “I’ll award myself more ‘fruit salad’ than I’m authorized, in order to fool the voters into thinking I’m a cross between Audie Murphy and General George Patton. That’ll impress ‘em. They won’t know the difference.”

Well, the many thousands of honorable Vietnam veterans Kerry smeared and slandered in his self-serving and much discredited testimony before Congress “know the difference.” And as a result, we have exposed him for what he is – a fraud.

And speaking of FRAUD, the Kerry campaign has yet to explain how the signature of former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman turns up on Kerry’s award citation for the Silver Star.

That decoration was allegedly won in 1968, many years prior to Lehman taking office in the Reagan Administration!

It is a serious crime for anyone to falsify an official military record or document – such as the forms displayed as “proof” of Kerry’s heroics on his campaign web site.

Why hasn’t the mainstream media, led by Bush-basher Dan Blather of CBS, demanded an explanation? The answer is obvious. They want any Democrat to defeat any Republican – well, maybe not any “Republican,” they still worship at the feet of Sen. John McCain. Back in 1992, some 89% of the news media polled admitted they voted for Bill Clinton. Is there any reason to think that number has lessened in recent years?

John Kerry’s ‘self-inflicted’ Purple Heart, Bronze Star

Two injuries – a small bruise on his right arm and a minor injury to his buttocks – won Kerry his Third Purple Heart and a trip home. However, the vets say, the wound to his buttocks was self-inflicted and should never have received Purple Heart consideration.

While Kerry claims the injury came from shrapnel from an underwater mine, Larry Thurlow, an officer on shore with Kerry that day, insists the wound was the result of Kerry’s decision to throw a concussion grenade into a rice pile. The “shrapnel,” he says, was actually rice pellets.

As further evidence, the vets say, Kerry himself reflected in his own journal that his buttocks’ wound came, not from a mine but, rather, from a grenade tossed into a rice cache.

Sworn statements of those present say there was no hostile fire involved in this incident for which Kerry received his third Purple Heart and the coveted Bronze Star.

“The conclusion is inescapable: that Kerry lied by reporting to the Navy that he had been wounded by shrapnel in his backside from an enemy mine when in reality he negligently wounded himself and then lied about the wound in order to secure a third Purple Heart and a quick trip home,” reads the letter.

The letter continues: “Kerry’s operating report, Bronze Star story, and subsequent ‘no man left behind’ story are a total hoax on the Navy and the nation,” they say.

As to the daring rescue discussed in the documentary video shown to the nation at the Democratic convention, the vets say the rescue was well under way under the leadership of others when Kerry returned to the scene where Special Forces soldier Jim Rassman was plucked out of the water. Eyewitnesses have signed affidavits explaining when Kerry returned, there was no more hostile fire. He just merely leaned over the boat and assisted Rassman out of the water.

“Kerry’s account of this action, which was used to secure the Bronze Star and a third Purple Heart, is an extraordinary example of fraud,” they say.

I can appreciate that, knowing nothing, you will believe anything....

Rassman recommended Kerry for the Silver Star.........this would have included a CONTEMPORANEOUS account of the events.......

The veterans group, led by Mr. O'Neill, a former Swift boat commander who was recruited by the Nixon administration to debate Mr. Kerry on "The Dick Cavett Show" in 1971, began its campaign in early 2004 by criticizing Mr. Kerry's protests against the Vietnam War. But backed by Republican donors and consultants, they soon shifted to attack his greatest strength — his record as a military hero in a campaign against a president who never went to war.

Naval records and accounts from other sailors contradicted almost every claim they made, and some members of the group who had earlier praised Mr. Kerry's heroism contradicted themselves.

Last Thursday, the Washington Post reported that the military records of Larry Thurlow, one of John Kerry's major accusers among the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, contradicted Thurlow's version of events and confirmed Kerry's. At the very least, this cast severe doubt on the charge that Kerry fabricated the events that earned him one of his Vietnam War medals....

Thurlow's current story casts doubt on his own Bronze Star as much as Kerry's. Thurlow's explanation is that his citation's record of the events must have been based on Kerry's and that the information must have been provided by Kerry himself. There is an "after-action report" that Thurlow and John E. O'Neill, coauthor of the anti-Kerry book "Unfit for Command," refer to as "Kerry's report" despite the fact that it bears the initials KJW. (Later news stories have pointed out that Thurlow's Bronze Star citation refers to a witness to the enemy fire -- Thurlow's crewmate, Robert Lambert -- and that the KJW initials are also on reports about events Kerry was not involved in.)

You Can Report, but We Will Decide

The LA Times? You may as well quote Pravda. There is a long list of people who served alongside Kerry who dispute his account of events. Then there are also all the flaws in his story. For instance, there's the signature of former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman on Kerry’s award citation for the Silver Star. That decoration was allegedly won in 1968, many years prior to Lehman taking office in the Reagan Administration.

Kerry is a fraud and a cheap con artist.

Sure....couldn't help noticing the absence of a source for your steaming pile there, Bri....

Have someone read this to you, you fucking idiot.....

The cold and undisputed truth is that Vice Admiral Elmo Zumwalt, Commander Naval Forces Vietnam, personally selected the Silver Star award for Kerry and personally pinned the Silver Star on Kerry's chest at a ceremony at our Coastal Division 11 base in An Thoi, South Vietnam just days after the action. A decoration, like every other award for heroism, that was recommended by his Division Officer and endorsed by then Captain Roy L. Hoffmann. According to Zumwalt, he actually wanted to give Kerry an even higher award, the Navy Cross, but decided upon a Silver Star because he wished to make the award as expeditiously as possible. These points were publicly reiterated by Admiral Zumwalt in 1996, in defense of Kerry's military record.

Undaunted by the word of one of the most revered naval commanders of any era, the Swift Boat Veterans for truth, and others without principle, continue to attack Kerry's medal with talk of “a Silver Star with a V for valor listed [in Kerry's records] that the Navy stated it had never awarded” and supposedly suspicious multiple copies of medal citations reissued to Kerry in the Reagan era and bearing the signature of then-Navy Secretary John Lehman who some quote as having said he “denied ever signing them.” What Lehman actually said, was that he did not remember signing them. Big difference, if one is interested in accuracy and the truth.

However, an October, 2004 Washington Times article probing fringe theories about Kerry's records found that the Pentagon gets scores, if not hundreds, of requests every year from veterans seeking new copies of their award citations. According to the paper, the reissued citations are put through an autopen machine, which explains why a Secretary of the Navy (who is, after all, a busy fellow) would not see or sign one. I, myself, made such a request for duplicates when my citations were stolen several years after my Vietnam service, and received replacement documents bearing the signature of then Secretary of the Navy Lawrence Garrett, who was not the signatory on my original citations.

As for those who claim that there were “heavy revisions in Kerry's favor,” in the Lehman-signed citation, that's not true. The only change in the Lehman-issued citation from its predecessor involves a dozen or so words of boilerplate text in the final sentence not involving details of the action. In the case of my Garrett issued citations, I would not be surprised if they contained words and phrases not in the originals. Does that affect the underlying facts: the basis for the original award? Of course not. Oh, and by the way, just like Kerry's, mine were also signed by autopen.

and I just showed you what Kerry did when in command....
Fighting for your life and the life of your comrades in battle is admirable, but it is also kind of necessary for your survival.

Being president and having to make split-second decisions most people could never even dream of making in even the most calm and serene surroundings is totally different.

And btw, national emergencies kind of involve ALL of the federal government. The legislative branch is equal in power and responsibility to the executive branch as well. Kerry and the Democrats should not have been able to gawk at the tv screen for 40 minutes.

I'll refrain from describing the above in favor of asking you to list what Kerry, as Senator, could have done in response to the news of the attack on the WTC.....
You mean the live coverage?

Kerry could have immediately called his governor in the nearby(neighboring) state of Mass. to make sure he was sending aid to New York and taking appropriate precautions to make sure terrorists didn't also attack Boston at that time or something.

That's good stuff.......

Bripat, are you getting this?

You better not look back........this kid is gunning for you....
You act like you didn't say Kerry couldn't do anything as the most powerful man in a neighboring state.

The fact is that he wasted 40 minutes doing absolutely nothing with his colleagues of dozens of other important states.

I was being charitable......

You say he could call to make sure someone else (over whom he has no authority) was doing something.......then you suggest that he could have taken some "precautions to make sure terrorists didn't also attack Boston at that time or something"........Like what? Scramble the UFOs at Roswell?

Read Gruber's statements very slowly and understand that Pelosi only fooled Democrats into supporting Obamacare.

Gruber couldn't say "the stupidity" of the Democratic Party(the only people stupid enough to fall for Obamacare as sold to us by Reid, Pelosi and Obama) so he played it safe by saying "the American people".
