Biden shot himself in the foot with his famous quote promising the little snowflake he would end oil production in AmericaDrill, baby, drill!
The U.S. is pumping oil faster than ever. Republicans don’t care.
The GOP narrative has a major hole: U.S. oil production — already the highest in the world — is on track to set a new record this year, and will probably rise even more in 2024. But the ever-increasing flow of U.S. crude has failed to keep a lid on gasoline prices, showing once again that a global market drives the fuel prices that shape presidents’ political futures.
And that means events far beyond the nation’s borders will play a sizable role in voters’ verdict on “Bidenomics” — as global oil prices rise and fall in response to banking conditions in Europe, China’s slumping real estate market, Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine and the latest maneuvers by Saudi Arabia.
[snip]
U.S. oil production is forecast to average an all-time high of 12.8 million barrels a day this year and keep growing to 13.1 million in 2024, the federal Energy Information Administration said in its latest forecast.
This reality has not stopped dishonest Republicans from lying:
In one campaign ad, former Vice President Mike Pence pretends to fill his pickup truck and blames Biden’s energy policy for “causing real hardship” for Americans, while ex-South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has vowed to bring oil production back to the United States.
And Sen. Tim Scott (R.-S.C.) railed last month on the Biden administration, which he asserted “has shut down energy production in America.”
“Why won’t this President tap into our abundant energy resources here at home and bring down prices at the pump?” he asked.
In fact, though, oil production from federal lands and waters has risen on Biden’s watch, reaching past 3 million barrels per day last year. The high mark during President Donald Trump’s term was 2.75 million barrels a day.
surada, why do you disagree with a simple question? Do you not want people to think about that?Did that happen because of or in spite of Quid Pro Joe? That's the question.
Tater took office in 2021, Dumbass. There was no demand in 2020 and 200 US oil companies went bankrupt.
The oil business is riskyThere was no demand in 2020 and 200 US oil companies went bankrupt.
LOL. So, you're saying that Biden is the biggest polluter ever. Time to vote him out, don't you think?Drill, baby, drill!

It's mostly Canada right now. We produce the majority of what we use. For example, we produce 12.8 mbd and our crude oil deficit was 2.6 mbd. Of course the crude oil deficit is the amount we import (6.9 mbd) - the amount we export (4.2 mbd). The first sentence made me quit reading because it adds a false context for political biased.
Yes America is the biggest oil producer, but we still have to import the majority of our useable oil from Canada and latin America and countries like Saudi Arabia.
Just because we pull the most out of the ground doesn't mean it goes right back into our country, most of goes out our country.
9 pages of infantile hissy fits from conservatives over the fact that Biden will forever be known as "The Energy President". Record oil production, record wind+solar energy production.
The issue is ENERGY INDEPENDENCE, not OIL INDEPENDENCE.We didn't and are more energy independent now than in 2019 or 2020.
The propagandist have conflated our energy independence with our oil dependence. They're not really lying to you but they aren't telling you the truth. Since before Kennedy, we've been oil dependent. Every year we consume more oil than the US oil patch can produce, so we have to import oil. Energy independence comes from all petroleum products (as well as all other sources of energy). Our exports are greater than our import. Mostly because of LNG.
so….are the left now on board with US oil production?
Trump had nothing to do with oil production. Production doubled during the Obama administration... Not because of Obama, but because the PPB was very high and that drives investment in increased capacity.
Here's the fib in your story. "Soon after Biden took office, the Energy Information Agency reported that the United States would begin importing more oil than it would export for 2021 and 2022. "The issue is ENERGY INDEPENDENCE, not OIL INDEPENDENCE.
I'm sorry if the FACTS conflict with your wishes. It is what it is.
Both candidates in 2008 supported Drill baby Drill. They had live pissing contest on who wanted to drill more.

IF that is true, why did President Biden sell off all our oil in the Strategic Oil Reserve? Isn't that supposed to be for emergencies? We are producing more oil than ever before and somehow that makes Republicans sad?
Newsflash...we don't control the price of oil world wide
Again...oil likes the path of least resistance. And government can clog things up. Old Joe is part of it. Self-important and knowing better like a lot of people who interfere with others trying to live. Another fraud huge government guy who lives off the best capitalism produces. Overseas issues can affect prices. OPEC is not doing us any favors. Transporting oil by railroad instead of pipeline is more costly. Stopping drilling permits even with approved drilling permits allowed is more costly. Fossil fuels are our lifeblood. And Progs are executioners. There was no demand in 2020 and 200 US oil companies went bankrupt.
