This can't possibly be a coincidence.

How is stating the facts racist? Please explain your reasoning for this belief. I have stated the facts. Nothing else. You must be a liberal. You're pretty handy with that race card.

Well the fact that the one stat you state is that they have high black populations, instead of things about the jobless rates, or low incomes, or low education scores... that shows you are racist.

So you think there is an excuse for criminality? Really?

Actually, that's what I study in college, and no I did not say there was "an excuse" for criminality, but there are factors in it.

The only factor in it is not giving a shit about your fellow man. My fathers family grew up as poor as you can get, 9 kids, father died young of TB, all were successful people, none spent one day in jail. In fact a couple died millionaires.

No, that's your opinion, and a logical fallacy to take one instance and extrapolate that to the entire society. That's like saying my grandpa smoke two packs a cigarettes a day and he lived to be 101, ergo cigarettes don't kill people.

No I stated nine instances, none had much more than a Jr. High education, my father had less than an 8th grade education. He didn't get his GED till he was 55 and retired from McDonald-Douglas as an electrical maintenance supervisor. It's very simple, people that care about others don't kill, rob or rape no matter how bad they had it.

I just love how these fools try to say I'm racist for stating the simple facts.

If I had said something like "Those damn ******* are responsible for this shit. They're the spawn of Satan. We need to send them all back to Africa. Should have picked our own damn cotton." I could see their point. But I didn't. I merely stated the facts. And if you are offended by the facts, then you are on the wrong side of the truth. I'll leave it there.
You are not stating "the simple facts." You are stating biased, partisan, racist so-called facts based on a skewed perception of reality. You have NO critical thinking skills. You are unable to see past your biases or believe in anything that goes against your tunnel vision.

People drowning in Texas left and right. This can't possibly be a coincidence. Texan Republicans have left that states ability to cope with floods in ruins resulting in many needless deaths.

You can spin something any way you like. See.

No that's just nature taking its course, most of the dead, stupidly drove into flood water. All in spite of a major "Turn around, don't drown" campaign.

Conservatives have a never ending list of excuses why they fail.

Never, ending.

Sorry child, it's you regressives driving around barricades or not leaving an area when they're told to.

Some of the posters on this board live for finding misery. It's like they are happy to see it wherever it is. I suggest they look in the mirror, it's right in front of them.

Almost all of it has to do with poverty and drug trafficking. Notice that no European countries are listed: yet those countries are by far the most liberal and democratic on the planet. It is not liberalism or democracy that causes violence: it is lack of education and poverty.

I agree, it's not good. But it has mostly to do with neighborhoods with high drug problems and drug trafficking as well as a lot of poverty. Nothing to do with liberalism or race. Cape Town is number 9, not at the top of the list, and yet if any place has a predominantly black population, Cape Town does and has a ton of racial issues. Also lots of poverty.

Be honest, be real: this issue of violence is down to poverty and mainly, MAINLY, drug problems.

As long as there has been human civilization, there has been criminality based on poverty, lack of education, and lack of a strong upbringing in human values. Since the dawn of civilization that has been true. No one is 'excusing' anything. It's an explanation. You too, it seems, are sorely lacking in critical thinking skills and in an ability to think and see beyond your own tunnel vision.

Excuse me child, this is the 21st century, every person in this country is exposed to the proper principles needed to live a productive life. In school from pre-K up, on TV and every other form of media. They've run clean out of excuses. Personally I strongly believe in a three felony strikes and you're dead policy. If a person persistently demonstrates they can't live in a civilized society, then they just don't get to live.

I wasn't taught "proper principles needed to live a productive life" in school. I learned those from my parents, and my church. I had role models around me to teach and support me.

When people don't have jobs - and unemployment is a huge problem in cities like Baltimore, there is no hope and no money. Successful people move away from inner city crime and trouble, so there are few role models for inner city kids, just gang bangers and dope dealers.

Children grow up to be what they see. When a child of a doctor or lawyer grows up to be a doctor or a lawyer, we're not surprised because they're emulating their parents. But when a poor welfare kid grows up to be a welfare adult, we're shocked that he/she didn't learn from their parents' example. The problem is, they did.

And another tries to excuse criminality. It all boils down to not giving a shit about your fellow man, if you respect others you don't victimize them, period, end of story.
You respect others? No.

But you like yourself and people like you okay. The rest you couldn't care less about.

Really, tell the rest of the class how many hours you volunteer a week at your local food pantry or other charitable organizations. My wife and I do 8-9 hours.

Being on welfare doesn't make you a criminal.

Being on welfare doesn't make you a criminal.
True. However, as Dragonlady alluded, there's a difference between someone simply being down on their luck, elderly or infirm and someone who was raised as a welfare child to become a welfare adult.

People can't respect anything if they can't respect themselves. People who think mooching off others or being given other people's money is a right are not good citizens even if they are not convicted criminals.

Thanks for your work in a food pantry. I'm sure you and your wife have seen as my wife and I have seen that far too many of those people are in need of mental health care, but they aren't getting it. While government-funded mental health care is weak, at best, the major problem is there is no law requiring these people to get help and most of them think they are fine.

Seeing as the top 8 murder capitals are in the Americas

List of cities by murder rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Only one of the top 40 in outside of America. Apparently it's blacks that do it. If this were the case, then Africa would be more dangerous, right? Seeing as many Africans cities have higher number of blacks than American cities

Caracas, number one in the murder rate, is in a country with a 16% Black population.
San Pedro de Sula, a country with a 3% black population.

I'm thinking you're not onto something here.
You are making the mistake of implying that I, or someone else, said that skin color was to blame. I do not believe that anyone said that. However, the black culture, which votes democrat, are responsible for what's happening in these cities. Do you see the difference? Probably not. SIGH!

C'mon dood. You start out with a title gasping "this can't be a coincidence" and then proceed to cherrypick your way into the "coincidence" you want it to go to. No, there are no "coincidences" in cherrypicking.
Even if what you say is correct...it isn't, but just pretend...How is stating the truth racist? I presented the facts, then asked for comments. I then get called a raaaaaaaaaaaaaacist! Puhleeeeeese. I can only laugh so much before I hyperventilate. LOL!
No, you didn’t ‘present facts,’ you presented a premise that fails as a fallacy.

You incorrectly inferred that because democrats ‘controlled’ these cities for decades they must be ‘responsible’ for all that’s wrong with the cities, which is a logical fallacy, an example of poor reasoning, given the fact that there are many other factors that contribute to the problems cities face having nothing to do with ‘democrats.’

Or you knew that democrats aren’t ‘responsible’ for the problems but attempted to propagate your lie anyway in bad faith for some perceived partisan advantage.

In any event, your premise fails as either a confusion of correlation and causation fallacy or a straw man fallacy – take your pick.
NO, because his premise is correct, the democrat run cities have done nothing in many cases for four plus decades on the local level. And its a direct reflection of democrat spending on social issues and NOT jobs or infrastructure.

Well no it ain't Pink-boy with IQ of 2.14, because he's lumping together correlations without showing causations. He's cherrypicking irrelevancies so he can try to make what he thinks will sell as a slur on his intended punching bags. Which it won't because it's a blatant fallacy and it's been called out as such.

The phrase:

"Democrat-run cities"

is effectively no different from

"Cities".

It's redundant. It's like saying "Cities that are located in a state".

Get it yet??

Naah, you prolly don't since you're a partisan hack with an IQ of 214 who thinks his posts will somehow make sense if they're posted in bold.

Most people don't brag about the charity work they do, and it's meaningless on an anonymous forum.

I personally rescued 356 nuns and orphans from a dragon this morning before coffee. They're all living happy productive lives now. The end.

Lots of people are making a lot of points that they are saying are facts, but how many people in this thread have actually provided links or data to back them up? Lutroo said St. Louis was one of the cities that had large black populations, when in fact is almost a 50/50 split with whites. Others have said that Democrats destroy cities. Well here is a list of the top 10 cities in the United States...here is the links and it shows who is the mayor of each city. Guess how many are Republicans?

Here is the top 10 cities of the Top 50 cities to live in the U.S. for 2015.

You really love twisting things around to make yourself look better. When looking at how well a city is doing, you have to go back a few decades to decide which party is responsible, as different parties can be elected from year to year. The ten cities I mentioned have been under exclusive control of liberals for decades. There is no one else to blame it on. They own this mess. No one else. Their LIBERAL policies have destroyed these cities economically.

Uh---- no the haven't dood. They've been under the conrtrol of Democrats, which is in no way the same thing as "LIberals" --- and notice that in the list above --- Four Democrats, Four "unspecified" and an Independent.

What does that tell your cherrypicking shallow brain?

No answer? It tells you that political philosophy bases simply aren't in play in running a city. Half these cities didn't even need one to get elected. All a political party does is provide an organizational framework. The philosophical part simply does not kick in until a higher level than a city. There is no difference between a "Democrat", a "Republican" or an "Unspecified" deciding that your garbage will be picked up on Wednesday, and there is no foreign policy position needed for the city of Denver. You're a partisan hack trying to make a bullshit point, and you've been called on it.
