One thing all third world countries have in common is the rich couple of percent have nearly all the wealth and the poor can never move upwards. That is what liberterianism and the koch brothers are doing to our country.

Wake the fuck up.

That is why we aren’t a 3rd world country. Because our poor still have electricity, food, running clean water, heat, AC and can move up the social economic ladder if they try hard.

Actually, moving up the social/economic ladder is becoming all but impossible in the US. Report after report is showing that since 1980, your ability to raise yourself out of poverty has declined sharply.

In 1980, you had a 20% chance of working your way out of poverty. Now you have a 2% chance. A recent study out of Massachusetts University found that where you are economically at age 20 is where you’ll stay.

The loss of unions is one factor in this lack of mobility but another is that there are fewer middle class jobs and more competition for them. When openings appear there are more people vying for them reducing your chances of getting one
Bullshit. All the studies I've ever read show that you are far more likely to move up than stay where you are.

You need to quit reading that communist propaganda. It's warping your mind.

Actually the US started to go downhill with Reagan. HIs low tax rates on the rich make it impossible to have a Fair modern country.
`
Actually it started with LBJ and his "Great Society" initiatives". However noble it looks on paper, it was extremely poorly executed for the worst possible reasons.
On paper it looked like organized plunder, and that's exactly what it was. All such schemes turn out badly.

What else does most western europe countries have over America
1. Low prison population. In America we have the biggest on earth as everything is illegal!
2. Getting sick can fucking destroy your life here in America...That doesn't happen in western europe.

Oh'yesss, loserterianism is so fucking free and wonderful. About as free as living in somalia and wondering if you're going to get blown away in the middle of the night.
Most Americans, and especially the rightwingers on this board, have no real knowledge or understanding of what life is like in Western Europe. It's humane, civilized and sane. Something the US is often lacking.

First of all, rightwingers want to destroy everything that is good about America. Second, they tell you, essentially, love it or leave it. Rather than wanting to make it a safe, sane, healthy place for all Americans, they say if you don't like it the way it is, get out. And they say it in a very nasty way. They are ruining American. Their anger, their hate, their venom, their racism: destroying America.

Funny, that's exactly what snowflakes say when you tell them you're tired of paying for their shit.

This country ranks No. 1 for ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ (it’s not America)
Norway ranked the No. 1 place for happiness and personal freedom, according to an analysis of three separate studies on life expectancy by the World Bank, on civil liberties from Freedom House, a New York-based nonprofit that conducts research on advocacy and democracy, on happiness from the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a group linked to the United Nations, and on rule of law from the World Justice Project, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit.

...

The U.S. has seen its happiness slide happiness over the last decade. In 2007, it ranked No. 3 among the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries. Last year, it was 19th, down from 13th the year before. “The predominant political discourse in the United States is aimed at raising economic growth, with the goal of restoring the American Dream and the happiness that is supposed to accompany it. But the data show conclusively that this is the wrong approach,” the report concluded.

For those interviewed in the report, perception is reality. At least, as far as their happiness is concerned and, experts say, the divisive political climate likely hasn’t helped. “The United States can and should raise happiness by addressing America’s multi-faceted social crisis — rising inequality, corruption, isolation, and distrust — rather than focusing exclusively or even mainly on economic growth, especially since the concrete proposals along these lines would exacerbate rather than ameliorate the deepening social crisis,” the report said.

...

The U.S showed less social support, less sense of personal freedom, lower donations, and more perceived corruption of government and business, it said. “America’s crisis is, in short, a social crisis, not an economic crisis… Almost all of the policy discourse in Washington, D.C. centers on naïve attempts to raise the economic growth rate, as if a higher growth rate would somehow heal the deepening divisions and angst in American society. This kind of growth-only agenda is doubly wrong-headed.”

Social democracies lead the world!!! High political freedom, strong safetynet, educated population and high GDP per capita!

WTF does America have??? Low political freedom, weak safetynet that a certain party wants to do away with all together and to hell with the suffering poor, one of the lowest in education but the religious like it that way and a dropping GDP per capita.

America is becoming a second world country.
Comparing Norway to America is idiotic considering America is made up of many races and creeds, Norway, not so much.
Just another example of the strength of hegemony, and the lie of diversity.

I disagree. Helping those in need is a "noble purpose" unless you have a different definition for that term. All those programs coming out of the "Great Society" initiative, helped people. However, it was not executed for "noble purposes." a) LBJ was scared to death that the blacks during that time were leaning towards communism and b) he found the lever that made blacks, democrat voters for life. School busing started the great social upheaval which is still manifesting itself today.

Donating your own time and money is noble. Forcing others to pay for your schemes is looting.

Welfare doesn't help people. It traps them in poverty.

What do YOU pay for? What was your tax bill last year? 84,000 posts in 7 years. That 32 posts per day, 365 days a year, so you obviously aren’t working.

You’re just here posting right wing hate all of the time. How can you be tired of paying for other people’s shit when you’re not paying for your own?

1. Generally these rankings just give points for having socialistic programs, on the assumption of the researchers that such are inherently good.

2. Also, I will not be held responsible for the negative numbers caused by liberals policies in the inner cities. That's on you and people like you.

3. Also, importing a million poor people a year, is not the way to improve your social numbers.

This argument gets used by right wingers all the time. It's fucking infantile.

It's basic common sense... If you don't like where you'r lick g you have three useful optiond:

1. Sit down. Shut up. Deal with it.
2. Take up arms to change the situation.
3. Leave.

Leftists aren't capable of 1 or 2 so offer them option 3.

That should have no effect, unless we're racists... Actually that does make it difficult, the racism that is...
Should be and doesn't are too different things.

Think about it, if the country was filled with francos, would they be more likely to live in peace together?

Tell me a country where diversity has lead to peace. The blacks use the whites as excuses as do the whites use the blacks...why? And what is going to solve such a problem?

Look at South Africa, blacks took over and now it is open season on white farmers.
