Actually not that much. We poor taxpayers ended up only 12 billion in the hole when it was all said and done. The winner wasn't GM, it was the union. They came out totally whole and that's where the 12 bil went.

Yup it went to straighten out their fucked up retirement packages. That's what our tax money was used for. Straightening out a mess they made and we paid for.

I might remind all you guys, without question, America won in the renegotiation, it wasn't even close. I just wish he would have succeeded in making Canada open up it's media access, Canada refused to, claiming "unique, protected status", meaning, "we want to keep our monopoly on state media. To relinquish that would mean Canada would be hard pressed to maintain our neo-communism.

Recently, the Feds gave $600M to media companies, to help smooth out any doubts of their reliance on government, and of course, to ensure Canadians are in the dark to how offensive our system is to the U.S system of liberty, Rule of Law and capitalism.
