while you look that up, also look up the profit rates for big pharma, software companies, medical supply companies, hospitals, I think you may then realize where the problem lies.

Single payer would only make that situation worse because it would create a monopoly that could rob us at will.

Thanks to GWB 2003 Medicare Modernization ACT! That created Medicare Advantage plans. AND NO thanks to Obama who tried to put them out of business because
GASP.... THEY MAKE A PROFIT!! And Obama et.al. hate anything that makes a PROFIT!!
The nearly 600 Medicare Advantage plans almost all for profits PAY TAXES also. Which again... NOT something that Medicare does!
All Medicare does is send the $800/month per each Medicare Advantage Plan beneficiary and the MA has to A) meet or exceed all the requirements of Medicare service wise. B) Make a profit so as to stay in business AND to meet reserve requirements of the states' that regulate them.
Obama and ignorant anti-profit idiots made MAs meet even more stringent requirements then Medicare has too trying to put them out of business.
Also guess what else happens! There is absolutely NO fraud payments by Medicare when the beneficiary is covered by an MA!
Worst case Medicare has is the $800/month they pay out to the MA. It's up to the evil profit making MA to insure their outlays are not for fraud!
