Trump invited Philippine leader to WH

-
Oh, puh-leeeez !!!!!

Yes.

In bed.

Do you understand the concept of metaphor, or will you insist upon playing (or demonstrating) the fool in connection with such language?

In bed.

Marcos, in the Philippines; Syngmann Rhee, in Korea; Batista, in Cuba; Diem, in Vietnam; Pahlavi, in Iran; Hussein, in Iraq; Pinochet, in Chili; Noriega, in Panama; Somoza, in Nicaragua; Franco, in Spain and dozens of others; and that's just in the 20th and early 21st Centuries.

Yes.

In bed, and usually ending badly for the United States; sometimes with us jumping out of bed, and attacking or undermining or overthrowing our bed-mate.

What does LibTard reaction have to do with the historical facts of the matter?

What does any of this have to do with the idea that the United States needs to learn from its past mistakes, rather than empowering the Emperor du Jour to make yet more?

We're all waiting for you to stun us - downright pole-axe us - dazzle us with your intellect, in serving-up substantive and decisive answers in this matter.

I want to defend the legacy of Augusto Pinochet.

He was a patriot who wanted the best for the people of Chile. He didn't sell bullshit Utopian propaganda, he promoted real merit. The greatest human being to have risen to prominence in the entire modern history of the western hemisphere.

Viva Pinochet!!!

Pinochet was better than Allende. That's for sure.

Careful, Skye.

At best, Duarte is a mentally unstable loose cannon.

At worst, Duarte is an autocratic, bloodthirsty dictator, who will turn on the United States for a pack of cigarettes.

I voted for the HildaBeast but I didn't much like it. I don't trust Trump, but, now, folks have to be willing to give him a bona fide chance to govern.

Dealing with Duarte - until his own people throw him out - is going to require a delicate balancing act, and Trump is more bulldozer than finesse.

I'm glad that the Filipino President is more agreeable to dealing with Trump, but I'm really worried about guilt-by-association for Duarte's psychotic behaviors and policies.
Does this mean we should not deal with him in a respectful, positive manner?
That's a very good question.

We have not had much luck getting into bed with dictators over the years.
In Bed?????????????????????????????????????????

But when Castro and Cuba was dealt with the Libs in the US rejoiced.

LOL I know what the term "in bed" means.

To show respect for the head of a sovereign state is the order of the day not the exception.
Looks good on paper, Sparky... not so hot in practice, in this narrow context.

So in your mind it's ok for foreign assholes to disrespect YOUR PM?
Of course! Why should that upset me? The only thing that disturbs me is that you think it matters if it's a "foreigner" who does the dissing!

I agree. More than most, American leaders impact on the world in many ways, so 'foreigners' have the right to express their opinion, and Americans have the right to agree or not. I'm pretty sure most Americans don't expect the rest of the world to just keep their mouths shut. When did this 'rule' come in to play? Lol.

I always figure it's ok for citizens to diss their leaders - after all, we elected them, they may be putz's but they are our putz's. When a foreign dignitary insults our president - why are we applauding it? :dunno:

Apples and oranges.

No matter how much you ridicule the idea a LOT of us see Obama as a FOREIGN leader who userped the office.

Bash away you non Americans. We wholeheartedly agree! Good riddence to the man and his husband.

I can't believe how many of you still believe Obama was born outside the US. :cuckoo:

An excellent observation. It's like a "foreigner" criticizing America's policies abroad and being told, "You're not even an american! Keep your nose out of our business!"

I'm pretty sure most Americans don't expect the rest of the world to just keep their mouths shut.
I'm not so sure of that..

When did this 'rule' come in to play? Lol.
Good question. Sometime between the end of WWII and Operation TP Ajax. You know, we're not allowed to criticize the US because according to american default logic, "we'd all be speaking German if not for them". Of course, I studied German and can speak it well so I don't know where the "punch-line" of that statement lies. :disbelief:

that's true.

* Why do we have the UN? Obvious?
* Hitler wasn't defeated by his own people alone. It took many other nations to bust his ass.
* The Vietnam War wasn't ended merely by American dissatisfaction. There was world-wide anger over American occupation of the country, without which the US might never have pulled out.

Philippine ex presidents Arroyo Macapagal and Joseph Estrada both went to jail for fraud after their 6 years term. Macapagal tried to escape to neighboring countries but got caught. Estrada is out of jail but Macapagal still in jail.

Duterte is going to jail for murder after his 6 years term.

Yes, the same one who called President Obama son of a w*** some time ago, remember? yes.

My, I am liking Trump more and more. :2up:

Aide: Trump invited Philippine leader to WH

I suppose we will have to listen to the media on this. They forget Trump isn't a politician yet they expect him to act like one.

Trump will do what he thinks best and I don't think he gives a shit what the media or his critics think. Good for him. Tell em all the fuck the hell off.

I know lots of Filipinos here and in the Phil. I was there last February bc of business.
There are far more killings in the Philippines than what is reported. Cops are crooked making a lot of money from bribery, fake vigilantes roaming around, neighbors turning against each other, drive by shooting is more rampant. Poverty is worse than ever.
Duterte threatened the Supreme Court with Martial Law if they intervene. Any political opponents or anybody against him .......... marked as part of Drug Cartel.

With such a situation, the moslem minority are sure to strike.

well said. won't miss president donothing, who was never eligible to begin with, as we'll soon to find out.

Why in the hell would he invite that psychopath to the WH?
It is called diplomacy. That is what civilized world leaders do .... not like Obama who wants nothing to do with Putin. Obama is an example of an uncivilized leader, a leader who needs to be shun by his own population.
