Personally, I have gone over 70 years without having felt that some Chinese guy was taking advantage of me. In fact, I have appreciated the fact that so many things are affordable to me in the US that are made in China. I realize that some guy in South Carolina no longer has a job sewing up my Fruit-of -the Loom underwear, but he should retrain on how to manufacture micro chips instead. Attempting to hold on to jobs of that nature is equivalent to subsidizing buggy whip manufacturers.

But there is still a shortage of people nation wide. Not all 7 million open jobs are in the mid-west

The issue is how much those positions are worth to businesses.
The graduates in my area are getting lucrative offers and moving all over the states.

Of course they are, that is what happens when there are more jobs than people to fill them.

We are not very large at all. We get the work done, a few of us just take on an extra project or two. As I said, there are local companies that pay better than mine, i traded salary for better quality of life. I have the most flexible work schedule I have ever had (though granted my experience is limited having spent 20 years in the Marines), and at this point in my life that is worth being paid a bit less.

I am not sure that sells as well with younger kids today. Also, the Ag industry is not the most glamorous!
