Trump Removed from Maine Primary Ballot

"There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day," McConnell said on the Senate floor that day. "The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president.

"If President Trump were still in office, I would have carefully considered whether the House managers proved their specific charge," he said. "But in this case, that question is moot. Because former President Trump is constitutionally not eligible for conviction."

Mitch McConnell

He should have been convicted by the Senate after he was impeached for it but Mitch said he was no longer president. If Mitch would have convicted Trump of this would you have accepted that?

Mitch McConnell backed down from voting to convict Trump of inciting an insurrection because he 'didn't get to be leader by voting with 5 people in the conference,' book says. McConnell was ready to vote to convict Trump of inciting the Capitol riot, a forthcoming book says.

"If this isn't impeachable, I don't know what is," he told two longtime advisors over a Chick-fil-A lunch in Kentucky on January 10, 2021, the book says.

McConnell also believed, it adds, that a conviction vote for Trump would be bipartisan and that it may even be enough to bar Trump from holding public office again.

McConnell ultimately voted against convicting Trump on February 13, 2021, despite blaming him for the attack.

"There is no question that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of that day," McConnell said on the Senate floor that day. "The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president.

In that same speech, McConnell repeated the very same argument put forward by his Republican colleagues — that a former president cannot and should not face conviction from the Senate.

"If President Trump were still in office, I would have carefully considered whether the House managers proved their specific charge," he said. "But in this case, that question is moot. Because former President Trump is constitutionally not eligible for conviction."

Even Mitch agrees with us.
So no link.

Got it.

I know you’re such a choirboy, next you’ll start defending Hunter as a board member of Burisma
I was just going to bring him up. You guys claim white privilege doesn't exist but there it is smacking you in the face. It's kind of hard when Trump and his kids are playing the same game.

Zero convictions
Won't make a bit of difference to you MAGAt Trumptards even WHEN he is officially convicted.
You'll just move the goalpost again and continue making excuses for the convicted felon.
So....yeah....he's guilty.
We are just awaiting the trials and the official sentencing.
Pass the popcorn please.

Not guilty. It's still America, despite the efforts of you fascist Dimwingers.

Or we want the Supreme Court to go on record defending his bad behavior.

Do you know the righties Trump appointed to the high court would have gone along if there was a shred of evidence the election was stolen. But since there wasn't, they couldn't help. If it's closer this year they might go along next time. They didn't want to go down on the wrong side of history on that one.

After looking at the evidence against him yourself, do you honestly believe he'll be found not guilty?
I have no doubt a jury pool that is 95% Dimwinger will convict, and it will be overturned when it gets to a real court, Simp.

He is guilty
So you've seen the DOJ's evidence?
Pretty funny though watching you MAGAt Trumptard's evolving defenses and explanations for your orange cat turd king though.
Only defense that will matter will be the one presented in court.
Oh it's based in law. We're doing it by the book.
IIRC, the 'book' from the Civil War.

The same should have applied to Bill Clinton, a sitting president. You'll never get a bipartisan vote to convict unless the guy did something egregious.....big time.

Just like all the other Senate votes to convict.....LOL

You have a problem with a book written during the Civil War but hang your hat on the Constitution?

You guys tried to use some really old laws still on the books to outlaw abortion. We had to take those laws off the books so you couldn't try to use them as justification for your moves. So you want to change the laws to protect future insurrectionists? Good luck.

Yea but not because he wasn't guilty. They said "he wasn't president anymore. If he was we'd have some balls and convict him. But he's not so I don't have to. This way I don't piss off his supporters""

The SCOTUS will probably not rule on the insurrection question....since that isn't even language used in Jack Smith's indictments or Fanni Willis'.
That does not matter. Your TDS crowd are the ones filing to have Trump removed from ballots, not Smith or Willis.....that get by you?

Remember the Virginia Fed Appeals Court judge who just tossed the ballot removal lawsuit in Va? Well, the people who were filing the lawsuit were found to have no legal standing. The same thing happened in Maine.

(Pssst..........ones a repo)

Three Maine politicians, including the former mayor of the state’s largest city, are behind one of the complaints that prompted a single Democratic official to deem former President Donald Trump ineligible to appear on the state’s ballot.
