Trump Will Purge Hispanics From GOP Like Nixon Did With Blacks

i was TRYING to be open-minded about it. said to myself they cant really mean they surveyed actual illegals and expected them to be completely truthful which is what any scientific approach requires; they must have meant a different kind of "survey". but this tidbit FROM YOUR APPENDIX C seems to say they did ask illegals

Once the residual estimates have been produced, individual foreign-born respondents in the survey are assigned a specific status (one option being unauthorized immigrant) based on the individual’s demographic, social, economic, geographic and family characteristics. These status assignments are the basis for the characteristics reported here (including, for example, specific countries of birth, detailed state estimates, duration of residence and presence of children). A final step in the weighting-estimation process involves developing final state-level estimates that take into account trends over time in the estimates. For this report, additional status assignments involving Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) were done for the 2012 ACS only
And?

Here is the source story upon which all the other stories about Carson and drone strikes were built:

Carson’s solution to the border crisis is a guest-worker program that includes paying taxes and a back-tax penalty. He said it’s not amnesty and would still require the current process to become citizens.

On Wednesday morning, Carson responded to a question about whether he would be open to the possibility of drone strikes on American soil to secure the border.

Notice it was not Carson who initiated the idea about drone strikes. Some yahoo did.

Carson's answer:

"The take home point is this. We have excellent military leaders," he said. "We need to employ their expertise because this is a war we are fighting. That's the bottom line."

Where is your evidence of that?

what is your evidence of ANY more accepted number? how do you quantify people that by the very nature of being illegal are shadowy?

Unauthorized immigrant population stable for half a decade

Here is the methodology used: Appendix C: Methodology

More information: http://www.census.gov/population/www/documentation/twps0101/SWG_emigration_jensen.pdf

what does stable mean? as in not increasing? or increasing at a relatively stable rate?

geesh

Interestingly, an unanticipated wrinkle in the rush to "secure the border" is that migrant workers are having a hard time getting out of the country.

They have always come for jobs picking produce, gone home and then come back for the next harvest. Now they can't get out of the US.

YAWN; about 5% of all illegals are in agriculture or work in slaughterhouses and such. we need a guest worker program for that

Just to make clear, Ann Coulter's book cites a 2004 source which specifically claims there are 15 million illegal immigrants in America. Not 15 million Mexicans. A total of 15 million illegal immigrants. All illegal immigrants.

Not 30 million Mexicans. Not 35 million Mexicans.

The same source says they EXPECT another 3 million to show up in America over the next year.

Expect.

They do not say "3 million a year for the next decade".

Ann Coulter is full of shit, and the rubes are eating it straight from her ass.

and you supplied an article that says they surveyed illegals and asked them to be all honest and such, and relied on their answers to plug into the equation

you cant be that stupid, not even you

Those Census reports are accurate.

Absolutely!

A census at Folsom State Prison reveals that less than 1% of inmates are guilty of crimes.

You democrats are brilliant.

Just because Coulter says "Nuh uh!", doesn't mean shit.

True, but the evidence she offered, backed by a solid study by two leftist publications, Time and Vanity Fair, mean a great deal.

Look, you are THE major advocate for election fraud, you absolutely depend on fraudulent voting to keep your party in power - obviously you are going to be less than rational on this.

You have yet to debunk their methodology.

There is no methodology.

You rely on people taking the census and stating that they are in the country illegally.

Your's is utter stupidity.

And there is nothing in your link which says there are currently 30 million or 35 million illegal Mexicans in America. Coulter's source article says there are 15 million . She made up the 30 million figure out of whole cloth. She doubled the number in the source:

Perhaps the most alarming aspect of having 15 million illegals at large in society is Congress's failure to insist that federal agencies separate those who pose a threat from those who don't.

And Coulter lied that he source said "3 million a year". It said "3 million THIS year".

False, the original source says over 20 million.

Coulter extrapolated that the rate of increase based on the trend would push it over 30 million by 2013 - which I push to 35 for the two extra years.

You employ absurdity in the face of fact and statistical logic.

I really don't care who brought the subject up, Arizona being what it is. Dr Carson is responsible for what comes out of his mouth in response and that is the only thing that matters. I'll be happy to see a retraction, but like so many Republican candidates, all they seem comfortable with is doubling down when facing an error.

He can't be that stupid, but he is that dishonest.

Jake5000 is the biggest promoter of election fraud in this forum.

This is an old argument between he and I. He views voter fraud as a right of the democratic party.

Nancy Boulton observes that:
Estimates of the size of the illegal alien population currently living in the U.S. range from about 12 million to over 20 million. The lower number is based on Census Bureau estimates of the foreign-born population in various Census Bureau surveys. The larger number is based on methodology that is not reliant on a respondent’s candor... it is virtually impossible to get an accurate count of populations who are resistant to being identified. Given the problem of porous borders and incentives to avoid detection, the higher estimate is not unreasonable.5

There was a time in this country where black voters were a reliable constituency for the Republican Party. That changed in the 1970s when Richard Nixon ran his reelection campaign using the Southern Strategy resulting in a purge of the last remaining blacks in the Republican Party and making them a solidly Democratic voter group for the last 40 years.

Right now, Hispanics are still a competitive group for the Republicans. Bush won almost half of them in 2004. Christie won the majority of them in his gubernatorial reelection and in the 2014 mid terms Texas Republicans did very well with them also. If Donald Trump were to become the Republican nominee he will purge them from the party just like Nixon did with blacks with his extremist and nonsensical immigration rhetoric. The Republican Party cannot afford to be relegated to only 10% of the Hispanic vote. They will never win a presidential election after that and they will no longer be competitive in states like Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and ultimately Texas.

Even if he were to get the nomination he won't be able to win the general for this reason. His words might temporarily placate your xenophobia, but ultimately you guys will be fucking your party and the country in the long term.

Blacks left the GOP in the 1930's because of the New Deal and Welfare.

Try again.

That's when it started. You will notice I said "That changed in the 1970s when Richard Nixon ran his reelection campaign using the Southern Strategy resulting in a purge of the last remaining blacks in the Republican Party"

It was a signal both sides heard loud and clear. Goldwater attracted the white Southern votes his advisers thought were essential, paving the way for the "Southern Strategy" that Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan would use successfully in later years. And the third of black Republican voters remaining speedily exited the party.

"It was an abrupt shift," says Hutchings. "For [the] relatively few — but still not trivial — fraction of blacks, they moved aggressively, and almost unanimously, into the Democratic Party."

And black voters have stayed there, in increasing numbers, ever since. Not that all of them want to be.

Why Did Black Voters Flee The Republican Party In The 1960s?
Foolish liberal. Southern strategy is a fallacy. No such strategy you liberals dreamt up to justify your enslavement of southern blacks --- again. Dixiecrats died as democrats except one Senator.

Indeed, U.S. Border Patrol Local 2544 stated in July of 2005:
“There are currently 15 to 20 million illegal aliens in this country by many estimates, but the real numbers could be much higher and the numbers increase every day because our borders are not secure (no matter what the politicians tell you—don’t believe them for a second).

why shouldnt we believe good ol UNION types who ACTUALLY DO THE JOB of border security?

BEN CARSON OPEN TO USING DRONE STRIKES ON BORDER

"Ben Carson on Wednesday indicated that he is open to using drone strikes to help secure the border, according to Dennis Welch, a reporter for Phoenix television station KTVK.

Before heading to the Arizona-Mexico border on Wednesday, Carson spoke at a rally in Phoenix on Tuesday, where he said that the U.S. should use surveillance and drones to patrol the border, according to Phoenix ABC affiliate KNXV."

Alternative methodologies
Alternative methodologies conclude that between 20 million and 40 million illegal aliens have evaded apprehension and live in the United States.
The official number was questioned by D.A. King of The Dustin Inman Society in 2004. Subsequently, an in-depth analysis was published by Fred Elbel1,7. In 2007, The Social Contract published an entire issue addressing the numbers of illegal aliens in the US2.
Nancy Boulton pointed out that two researchers at Bear Stearns Asset Management estimated that the number of illegal immigrants in 2005 could be as high as 20 million. Their figures were based on an analysis of the large discrepancy between official census estimates and growth in indicators such as remittances to the countries of origin, school enrollment and building permits.5,8

The analysis by James H. Walsh notes that estimates compiled by the U.S. Census Bureau (USCB), national surveys, governmental agencies, philanthropic organizations, religious charities, nongovernment statistics-keeping agencies, and immigrant advocates range from 7 million to 20 million illegal aliens. Walsh concludes that the number is closer to 2 times 20 million, or 40 million.4 Walsh notes that in 1992,
...an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General found INS statistics suspect and cited deliberate deception by senior INS officials tampering with immigration statistics... U.S. Border Patrol agents confided that they were told to cap apprehensions and deportations to conform to the desires of various Administrations to create at least a public perception of border control.

Walsh also notes that:
In addition, the U.S. Census Bureau routinely undercounts and then adjusts upward total census numbers of Hispanics and other foreign nationals residing in the United States––counting only, of course, those willing to be counted. For the year 2000, the Census Bureau reported a total U.S. population count of “about 275 million” men, women, and children. When the states and local governments challenged that number as an undercount, the total was corrected upward to 281.4 million, with no clear count of illegal aliens. The Hispanic 2000 census count was 32.8 million, but on re-count the Census Bureau adjusted this number upward to 35.3 million, a 13 percent increase.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been releasing illegal immigrants with violent criminal records back into local U.S. communities, where they have often gone on to commit violent crimes against American citizens, according to new disclosures by a leading lawmaker and local law enforcement agencies.

Rep. Matt Salmon (R., Ariz.) and law enforcement officials petitioned the Obama administration on Wednesday to end a policy that enables illegal immigrants with criminal records to be released back into the United States.

Arizona law enforcement officials announced on Tuesday that three illegal aliens with violent criminal records had been released by DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) back onto the streets, where they went on to commit crimes including kidnapping and murdering an infant.
