Trump’s Civil War Comments Show ‘Lack’ Of Understanding History

What an ignoramus -

What's wrong with that? He might be right. So instead of just sneering, why don't you explain what was wrong with his comment, if you can.

Jackson died 16 years before the Civil War started, so he couldn't have not been happy with what he saw during the war. :cuckoo:

..and this topic was covered on may 2-4th when it was actually current events, which it is no longer.

Trump & Andrew Jackson

Does Trump come out looking less of a fool in that thread?

No. :piss2:

I guess if we elected Trump to be President of American history, this thread would actually be relevant.........
OMG, we should expect the president to know as much about American History as a 5th grader.

No. :piss2:

So what's your problem, if he looks equally dumb in both threads?

The shit is old.

Should never have been posted here.

You want to post a current event, try "day of rage" or "queen's speech"

That's not what he said. Trump was looking back at Andrew Jackson's life during which he successfully, while president, averted Civil War in 1830 when South Carolina passed the Nullification Act and Jackson was able to do what Lincoln failed to do 30 years later. Between 1830 and 1860, lots and lots of people--including Jackson--saw us heading for Civil War. Jackson remarked that if he were still president, we wouldn't be rushing headlong toward Civil War. Trump referenced that by saying "what he saw regarding the Civil War". If he were talking about something he thought Jackson said about his direct experience of the war, he would have said "what he saw during the Civil War".

You see, now, what petty dishonest unpatriotic obstructionists you libtards are?
