Trump's Short List Of VP Candidates

How about Newt Gingrich for VP this year?

Would definitely be loyal to President Trump, doesn't have further political aspirations, without a doubt one of the sharpest and most qualified people out there to serve if called upon

Think he has health issues.

You obviously did not read it if that is what you think. The 12th changed the process completely and was passed to prevent the loser from becoming VP as originally was written. get a fucking history degree and teacher certification before arguing shit you don't know.

Well idiot, the 12th in the 1st sentence of the 1st section quotes Article 2, Section 1. Clause 3 verbatim. The only real difference is the separate list for VP, which is moot now since the presidential candidate of each party choses their own VP. Not much else was changed.

It doesn't say shall. It says shall not. That means Florida electors can vote for Trump or Rubio, but not for because they are from the same state as the elector. That's where the "one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves;" comes in!

Please push the "I believe" button and stop embarrassing yourself.

Poor demented little old man, tell me what the third word of the 12th and Article 2, Section 1, Clause 3 is.

And since you don't appear to be online, I'm going to add one more comment. The meaning of the word "shall" is independent of the word that follows it.

The 12th Amendment applies.

The Electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President, and they shall make distinct lists of all persons voted for as President, and all persons voted for as Vice-President and of the number of votes for each, which lists they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the seat of the government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate;

That means Florida electors can vote for Trump but cannot vote for Rubio as VP. It's right there for any moron to see.

Although that's certainly true, if President Trump were to win the electoral college by a narrow enough margin he would need Florida, it still wouldn't be a problem if the GOP took the Senate. Then the VP could be elected by that body.
