Well, that fuel was most likely destined for the push southeast from Izyum. Putin can't move his forces without fuel.

Belgorod is the main Russian logistics base for the Kharkiv/Izyum axis. That's where the Russian forces from around Kiev and Sumy are being reconstituted.

So knocking out that fuel is more than a nuisance. At the minimum, Russia needs to take Slovyansk which is some 50km SE from Izyum. If Ukraine can hold Slovyansk, the Russians cannot encircle the JOC in Donbas.

With the Russian defeat in Kiev, everything to the west of Kharkiv is abandoned and Ukraine is now free to harass the west flank of Putin's forces. The 35th CA is spent, any attempt to put them back in the fight will likely fail.
