UN: US inequality reaching a dangerous level due to Trump's 'cruel' measures

This thread shows how ill informed the republican/conservative mind is. So much mis information has been said for so long and so loud they believe it all. I lived through the Booooosh economic depression and the recovery that Barack manifested. There should be some law that states conservative ideals are illegal and to be rejected.
THIS is how "history" gets rewritten by the radical left. They cannot be reasoned with.

Sure...and under Obama everything was wonderful.....enough libs...you are looking unhinged....
Actually for the eight years Barack was president the USA was looking good. Now it is going to hell in a handbasket.

Was that a joke? The economy has done much better in the last few years, than when Obama started off. His programs and policies did nothing useful.
When Obama took office the DOW was below 8,000 and we were losing 745,000 jobs a month. He had 8 years of steady job gains and the DOW rose 11,000 points. He dealt with the second worst financial crisis this country ever experienced. Thank goodness the newly enacted financial regulations were rolled back so we can do it all over again.

0.o..... We had the worst recovery of any recession ever. None of his policies achieved, any of the goals they were stated to accomplish, by Obama and his team. Honestly, there is no possible way to claim Obama's policies "dealt with" the financial crisis..... BY THEIR OWN STANDARDS.

Not our standards...... by Obama's own definition of what success was, they all failed. Obama said that the stimulus package would stop unemployment from going above 6%. We hit almost 11%. Obama said the stimulus package would put the economy on recovery in a matter of months. It was YEARS before we really recovered.

Saying that the DOW went down, and jobs were lost, and then the DOW recovered and jobs started coming back....... is not proof that policies worked. Because the economy would recover without government doing anything.

Again, even Obama's own team of economic advisors said the economy would recover if they did nothing.

What shows the success or failure of an economic policy, is if it does what they say it would do. It didn't.

Obama did not help ..... ANYTHING... Period.

No, they don't. RWNJs hate them, but those aren't real Americans.
So if someone disagrees with you they are not real Americans? You need to look up the word Fascist...
A fascist is a follower of a political philosophy characterized by authoritarian views and a strong central government — and no tolerance for opposing opinions.

Sums up our present administration's potus and his toadies rather well , disagree and you're fired, the media puts it in print and it's fake. Any opposition of significant horsepower is 'liberal'

UN: US inequality reaching a dangerous level due to Trump's 'cruel' measures
Source: The Guardian

Donald Trump is deliberately forcing millions of Americans into financial ruin, cruelly depriving them of food and other basic protections while lavishing vast riches on the super-wealthy, the United Nations monitor on poverty has warned.

Philip Alston, the UN special rapporteur who acts as a watchdog on extreme poverty around the world, has issued a withering critique of the state of America today. Trump is steering the country towards a “dramatic change of direction” that is rewarding the rich and punishing the poor by blocking access even to the most meager necessities.

“This is a systematic attack on America’s welfare program that is undermining the social safety net for those who can’t cope on their own. Once you start removing any sense of government commitment, you quickly move into cruelty,” Alston told the Guardian.

Millions of Americans already struggling to make ends meet faced “ruination”, he warned. “If food stamps and access to Medicaid are removed, and housing subsidies cut, then the effect on people living on the margins will be drastic.”

Anyone that isn't rich should think twice before they ever vote republican again! I am dead serious.
Please show us where all these starving people in the US are.

Otherwise crawl back into your grub hole.

Capitalism is founded on and is created for capitalists....the 1 percent....to keep making a profit. It is not created with the middle class in mind. Econ 102.

W/o a 'leash' yes ,everything gravitates to that top 1%, thus granting statistical economic bliss to those convieniently leaving out disparity.

Yet economic objectivity would make us appear no less top heavy than many other 'sh*thole' countries where the same top dogs rule

It's a guilded age redux equating to making American great again , with a bubble economy that goes with it .

HelllloooooooooooOOOoo Agentina .......A decline without parallel

This is the road to ruins for the vast majority of Americans...

This is the model of Africa and central America. Is that what you wish for? All the wealth in the hands of 5-10% of the population and most everyone else being nothing more then serfs.

India is a good example of this also.

For the empty skulls who would cheer this, guess which way the crime rate goes when people can't eat or feed their families. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

How "bout" they get off their lazy ass and get a job.

over 25% of the population HAS no official income. They live on the dole, on pensions, on disability or SSI, cash jobs and illegal activity. So you wont be getting any taxes out of them. A sales tax, tho, DOES derive income from this class of people.

Tax their assistance too…

If they have skin in the game

they won’t be for higher taxes.

.

The idea of getting rich on welfare ...
Ranks right up there with stealing money from poor people who don't have any.

At least the reporter is consistent ...

.

You want equality? Everyone pay 20% of their income no matter the source in a fair flat tax. That’s equality.
A rich guy whose income is from an inheritance and a poor guy whose income is from actual work do not contribute equally to the economy. The poor guy contributes more.

You are full of Shit....

The Rich guy pays a tax on his

property and everything he buys.
