That's true. And it is not govts' business to "redistribute wealth for 'fairness.'" But, there's no doubt that Slick managed to increase federal aid for after school care, while also getting people who were getting by on welfare to get jobs. Similarly, even gopers in red states are expanding medicaid to cover workers who don't get a healthcare benefit. Democratic policies led us to higher inflation. The solution is not to raise interest rates. The solution is to reverse democratic policies which caused most of the inflation so we don't have to raise interest rates.

I've given up on him. Although, like every bout of inflation, both parties participated in increasing money supply to fund their tax cuts and increased spending. I thought W's malapropism was wonderfully descriptive of his own "downturn." "the economy got drunk and now it's got a hangover." If he'd only have known his own limitations. lol

Tax revenues increased after the Republican tax cuts, but for a very small drop during Covid.
