With the worlds largest body of water.I've said it before, I'll say it again. Southern California was a desert and will return to being a desert. We can fight Mother Nature for only so long.

That would be proactive, Democrats can’t do that.We should put our best people on desalinization.
You can take a shower.
You can do one load of laundry.
But if you do both, it’s a $1,000 a day fine.
Under drought conditions it goes to $10,000 a day.
As the one reporter said - I can smoke pot but I can’t shower and do laundry!

Interesting. Appears to be from June of 2016. I could not find anything from 2019 or of course 2020 since this is only day 2. I guess they were taking the drought pretty serious limiting to 55 gallons a day. I remember when military logistics tables called for 35 gallons water, ice and fluids combined for troops in the field per man per day. I remember spending some time at a Luftwaffe base near Kitzigen, Germany. Really nice facilities, but all the sinks and showers had the automatic timers to shut the water off, so you had to keep hitting the button to get through a shower or even shave. Other than that, some of the best quarters I ever had.
There is no drought in California.
As far as I could find searching the internet, there are no new water restriction that went into effect in California yesterday. I think you are referring to restrictions that were to go into effect after the 2016 drought. I though last winter put their reservoirs at high levels not seen in last 10 years. Glad I don't liver there, none the less. If I missed it, point me to it.
Yeah, the Los Angeles Times lies.
California will have water consumption limits for the first time after ‘landmark’ legislation passed

The Asian guy said a load of laundry takes 40 to 50 gallons of water.
If you have a High Efficiency washer, they use about 20 gallons. Some use even less.
What if you step in human excrement in one of the infested cities and you've already washed clothes. Can you get a waiver on that shower?
what do you suggest given the drought problems that Cali has had?You can take a shower.

A ban on watering your grass would be acceptable. Perhaps no washing cars either.

"New law (in California) makes it illegal to shower and do laundry on same day"
— Bloggers on Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 in a blog post

The solution is free floating water prices.
As supply goes down, price will go up. This will naturally result in 3 things:
1. People will find alternatives. Watering their lawn with stored rain water for example.
2. People will reduce their usage in relation to cost.
3. As the prices goes up, alternative sources of water will end up cost effective.
This is exactly what we saw with oil in 2006-2008.

You mean nobody there waters their lawn or washes their car? I find that pretty hard to believe.

tje water system is much more complicated. Cali already has the highest water costs in the nation. Prices do fluctuate based on supply and also usage. And there are tremendous efforts to help with education and conservation.
