What Fascism is, is socialism hiding behind a thin veneer of capitalism. What It's not is everything a lefty loon disagrees with.

And there's the excuse. Hitler didn't like Communism because it competed with his form of Socialism. Socialism is a failure no matter the flavor. It is also the most murderous socioeconomic system in history.

There are two ways Socialism comes about. The people vote for it or violent revolution. No matter the way you always have to shoot your way out of it and a lot of people die either way.

While I had a decent education at public school in the Bronx, one thing I "learned" was that Fascism is a "right-wing" philosophy. Meaning Nationalism, belief in Jesus and other stuff that seems vague to me now

You were apparently inspired by the wrong ideology. Nationalism is not a bad word unless you turn it into a bad word. It's obvious that the left wing enforced the modern version of fascism during Covid. The power of the current administration and the administration's partnership with a fascist media should scare you more than the vague memories of a liberal education.
