Now, I know many will desperately try to deflect to Trump’s win in the 2016 election, but we already know it has been demonstrated over and over that the opposing party takes over the executive branch after the other party’s two terms. I don't think the title statement is accurate. By the Daily Kos' tracking, in special elections, Republicans have flipped three seats since Trump took office, which means Democrats have not won every special election.

Democrats flipped something around 35 seats in special and regular elections. Republicans won one regular election. One observes too that the margins on the races have averaged around 10%.

Every reversal of fortune must begin somewhere. It's worth noting that a great many of those flips are for state-level seats. Take a look at the "Red Wave" from 2010 to 2016 and see how it commenced and progressed. What you'll see is people voting in Republicans at the state level before the voted them in at the national level.

Well, that certainly could be argued.

In a thread I started a few days ago, it was made pretty clear to me that Trump supporters see no reason to worry about either the coming demographic changes or the signs of a blue wave in November. Either they're correctly perceiving reality completely differently than I am or they're just talking themselves into some pretty powerful denial.

We'll see in November, obviously, but I don't know how any Republican can not be pretty freakin' nervous right now.

The thing is, some people like Billy on the left, and those on the far right seem to think this is little more than a game. Like policy means very little to them. The closest game I can relate this to is Reversi. Everyone will flip at one point or another.

The "dailykos"? I signed up to post on that site in October of 2015 and after ONE post where I questions global warming versus geo-engineering? I was banned and I did not violate any terms of service...I was simply trying to bring about awareness of the stratospheric aerosol injection spraying program that began in earnest in 1997 as a potential factor of climate change. Okay, but it's a correction that's not worth that much. It's three seats out of something around 40 or so. I can't imagine anyone who cares to have others take them seriously "milking it" at all. But, I understand your point. That said, at least of those who do, you will know for sure that they are "just that childish."
