There are no absolutes here. Our government has the job of providing protections to encourage a strong free market economy. You are correct to disparage their efforts in doing so. Yes, this government is a parasite. Free markets, in and of themselves do not have inherit checks and balances. The big bully on the block can put blockades in front of progress, just as easy as governments can. We need checks and balances. We used to have more checks and balances. We became successful and set the bar. Other countries have now met our challenge. We are no longer the Goliath at the top of the mountain... Stuff happens.

There are good protections and bad protections. Stopping companies from starting a dust bowl is a good protection. Stopping countries from product dumping to "buy" a market and run our companies out of business is a good protection. Stopping criminals from going from corporation to corporation with guns killing the owners and / or forcing them to pay for "protection" is a good protection.

A free market cannot exist without some level of protection.

Free market and protection are antonyms. You cannot have a free market and have protection of some players in that market from competition.

Germany has been exporting jobs to cheaper Poland and Czechosolovakia for years now. Laws dont change that.

OK, so now you've moved the goalposts. It isn't that Germany is doing great economically (your previous claim), it's that their poor performance is balanced by their employee-friendly policies.
That's also a fail. It works fine if you already have a job. But if you're young trying to get into the workforce yo discover no one will hire you because the cost to doing so is prohibitive.
