What would you like the state to do?

Well, obviously, I don't want the state to exist at all, but with the state still existing, I thought it'd be a good idea to get people's ideas on what they would want the state to do. Let's keep it civil.
Here are my ideas:
- Universal Healthcare
- Free Higher Level Education
- Food distribution centers in all major cities/areas with those poverty
- Full employment
- Higher taxes on the top 0.1%
- Reduced military spending, more focus on renewable energy programs/health/education
- Government program to provide housing to the homeless using the existing homes that are unoccupied, or homes that can never sell, etc, etc...
Many more, just a brief list.

Heh... yeah. That's a helluva a list for someone who doesn't want the state to exist at all.

Here's what I want the state to do. Protect property rights and individual freedom. And that's all.
I don't want the state to exist, but I'm a realist, and if the state exists and collects taxes, I would like these programs to be endorsed by the ruling state.

I'm a realist too. And if the state exists, I'd like it to protect our freedom as much as possible, and otherwise leave us alone.
Name one thing above that takes away from your freedom.
Your freedom to spend your money.

A state will always tax people, I'd rather have the taxes be used more efficiently, sorry if your idiotic mind can't grasp that.

So adding on a ton of extra taxes somehow raises the efficiency of a severely inefficient system? haha

No, reallocating who is taxed, where taxes are spent..

"In the 20th century, the Soviet Union made the state’s role absolute. In the long run, this made the Soviet economy totally uncompetitive. This lesson cost us dearly. I am sure nobody wants to see it repeated.

Nor should we turn a blind eye to the fact that the spirit of free enterprise, including the principle of personal responsibility of businesspeople, investors and shareholders for their decisions, is being eroded in the last few months. There is no reason to believe that we can achieve better results by shifting responsibility onto the state.

And one more point: anti-crisis measures should not escalate into financial populism and a refusal to implement responsible macroeconomic policies. The unjustified swelling of the budgetary deficit and the accumulation of public debts are just as destructive as adventurous stock-jobbing."

- Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia, February, 2009.

How A Failed Commune Gave Us What Is Now Thanksgiving

It’s wrong to say that American was founded by capitalists. In fact, America was founded by socialists who had the humility to learn from their initial mistakes and embrace freedom. One of the earliest and arguably most historically significant North American colonies was Plymouth Colony, founded in 1620 in what is now known as Plymouth, Massachusetts. As I’ve outlined in greater detail here before (Lessons From a Capitalist Thanksgiving), the original colony had written into its charter a system of communal property and labor. As William Bradford recorded in his Of Plymouth Plantation, a people who had formerly been known for their virtue and hard work became lazy and unproductive. Resources were squandered, vegetables were allowed to rot on the ground and mass starvation was the result. And where there is starvation, there is plague. After 2 1/2 years, the leaders of the colony decided to abandon their socialist mandate and create a system which honored private property. The colony survived and thrived and the abundance which resulted was what was celebrated at that iconic Thanksgiving feast...
I’m often asked why our current leadership class forgets the lessons of the past so often. They are, after all, very smart men and women. Don’t they know that collectivism will fail?
No, they don’t. Not anymore. For much of our history, our leaders were educated in the principles which were to help them avoid errors once they have joined the ruling class. They studied to learn how to not misuse power. Now our leaders learn nothing of the dangers of abusing power: their education is entirely geared to its acquisition...
Collectivism violates the iron laws of human nature. It has always failed. It is always failing, and it will always fail. I thank God that it is failing now. Providence is teaching us once again.

This is the new right wing bullshit we have to deal with.

Taking money from the people that earned it and giving it to the welfare queens in exchange for votes for the Democrat Party is the bullshit we have to deal with.

LOL, this is one of the biggest piles of shit I've ever read. Are you ignoring the examples that worked that I've said many times on this site? They failed because they had disease they weren't exposed to, didn't know the land, natives, didn't know how to farm properly.. You can't blame that on fucking socialism.

Keep saying earned it and welfare queens when ignoring the actual facts about those on welfare...

- Universal Healthcare it's a nightmare in most countries that have it
- Free Higher Level Education You have no idea what the word 'free' means in that sentence
- Food distribution centers in all major cities/areas with those poverty have those
- Full employment how are you going to force people to work that get paid to not work?
- Higher taxes on the top 0.1% already pay 84% of all taxes
- Reduced military spending, more focus on renewable energy programs/health/education so you are ok with throwing Vets out of jobs.
- Government program to provide housing to the homeless using the existing homes that are unoccupied, or homes that can never sell, etc, etc... been done, it fails every time

next time, try thinking
A nightmare? Facts don't lie you moron, it's much better.
I'm sorry, I'll look to education models like that of Germany
Give me the information for that number.
Throwing vets out of jobs? Your logic totally makes sense, we don't need multi 100 billion dollar stealth bombers
How has it been done and failed?
You need to take a close look
It's paid with tax money, idiot.

Taxes always exists under a state, it's about efficiently using them. The Red Cross/Salvation Army are good, but let's be realistic now.. that Cherry picked example is horrible, and it's bad what those people did, but in a capitalist society with the constant message of MONEY IS SUCCESS, YOU NEED MONEY, MONEY BUYS COMMODITIES.. Here's a very visible example that everyone has seen and is why socialism/communism doesn't work.
Look at government jobs where people are locked in at a certain position with little room to make more money and yet they also have to rape at work to lose their job such as at the DMV. They act like if you ask them to do their job it is a huge favor to you when they are PAID to do their job. It's across the board with everyone in employment situations like that and that is the kind of work ethic you will get out of socialism/communism.
