Japan has a culture of suicide. Wyoming has a culture of suicide compared to other US states.
The US is projected this year to have more gun deaths than auto deaths. That's not good, driving is one of the most dangerous activities Americans partake in on a daily basis.
The point being that anyone who truly wishes to commit suicide will do so. The evidence is overwhelming....and all things considered death by firearm is a far more humane way to go than hanging and has no possibility of collateral damage like an airplane or a car.
