There's no barriers to entry, go to Legal Zoom and files the papers.
Go for it!
What's stopping them?
Lack of start-up capital. Lack of business acumen. Lack of unique selling proposition.
It's absurd to think someone whose wages are so low they can barely get by will a) have the know-how to raise venture capital, or b) appeal to venture capitalists.
It's absurd to think the exploited can become exploiters. The fact is that the more we commoditize our workers, the less influence average people will have over their lives or this society.
We need wage fairness, by law. Then maybe workers can pay for thier kid's college, and restore some equality of opportunity in our society, which has diminished since 1980 and is quickly approaching the dual societies in South America, which is home to the world's larget slums / favelas, and thus small businesses have few if any customer prospects.
Greed, unmitigated, will ultimately implode under the weight of its own success. So it's up to the society to protect itself from that. Period.
