The most sweeping action currently being considered, an executive order defining who's "engaged in the business" of selling guns, would immediately require some private dealers to obtain a license and begin conducting background checks.

'Surprisingly enough' Obama's Executive Order does not address his administration's own 'thorough' yet inept background check system that allowed a terrorist into the country who eventually murdered 14 Americans - after he had praised the system, mocked Americans as cowards for their legitimate concerns for our national security and their safety, and declared his administration's background checks left nothing for Americans to be afraid of except for 'widows and orphans'.

It also fails to address Obama's and his administration's inability to identify friend versus foe, as demonstrated by it's giving thousands of weapons to Mexican drug Cartels (resulting in 500+ deaths, 2 Americans), arming and going to war to help Al Qaeida take over Libya, supplied/armed/trained/protected ISIS, AND flew members of the terrorist group the Muslim Brotherhood who were on the 'No Fly List' into the US and to Washington so they could attend Cabinet meetings as part of their 'training' to take over the Egyptian government.

ALSO not addressed is the fact that NOTHING Obama's Executive Order includes could prevent any of the mass shootings he has chosen to politicize OR the shootings he has chosen NOT to politicize or the successful terrorist attacks he has allowed to happen. Instead, it is just another progressive step forward towards govt gun confiscation/out-lawing in the US.

Per the constitution, the federal government may only regulate sellers and buyers engaged in INTERstate commerce. INTRAstate sales are beyond the purview of federal power.

Hiring more people wasn't the problem regarding allowing a terrorist into the country and won't stop mass shootings from happening.

Kudos for FINALLY addressing mental health....but this is the govt. Any idea they come up with will be oppressive, will miss the mark, and still won't stop shite.

Who is a dealer and who is a seller is not the big problem...it's who is / are the SHOOTERS and TERRORISTS. Again, t won't stop anything. Criminals and terrorists will get guns...hell, our own government facilitated the murder of over 500 people/2 Americans by GIVING Mexican Drug Cartels thousands of weapons. Perhaps they ought to invest in some background checks on politicians and govt employees to see if they can find an ounce of common sense sometimes!?

Only one established on certain unchangeable principles, principles that make it clear what a legitimate government is . . .

If the Federal Government violates the principles of its establishment it would no longer be --the government established by the Constitution-- it would be something else, and that would be cause for the people to rescind their consent to be governed, reclaim the powers they conferred through the Constitution and throw off the usurpers; using the means secured by the People in the 2nd Amendment if necessary.

The states, when they created their union, gave it a limited set of enumerated powers. The federal government has long ago assumed more powers than the states ever granted in the constitution, rendering it essentially null and void.
