Why are Republicans terrified of free and fair elections?

It’s amazing that the poor can’t drive cause they can’t get any ID. No liquor either. They are really stupid eh leftists? Is that your position?

"So why is it that liberals reject voter ID's?"

Because of the hardship and expense for many people getting them. Plus, not everyone even has a birth certificate.

I'll tell you the real reason if you really want to know.

Democrats are lazy people. Sure, they will vote if it's convenient enough: people driving them to the polls, vote by mail, voting places staying open days and weeks long, but to put any effort into voting (like obtaining an ID) they would lose interest because voting is just not important enough to them.

Republicans on the other hand would climb a mountain of barbed wire to vote. Voting is important to us, so getting an ID to vote is the least of our problems.

As for your claim of hardship and expense, let me tell you, if you could find one person as an example of your claim, and tell them there is a $1,000 waiting for them at the other end of the state if they can only produce a valid ID, they would have one in two hours and be at the other end of the state in three hours.

So it's not about the difficulty of getting an ID, it's just a FACT that voting is not all that important to potential Democrat voters.

What's up with all the voter suppression and dirty tricks that Republicans are using to keep certain people from voting? I haven't heard of even one report of Democrats engaging in voter suppression and dirty tricks.

What do you think? Are you ashamed? Do you think this is fair? Constitutional?

The Republican Party Emerges From Decades of Court Supervision - The Atlantic

North Carolina is the epicenter of the fight over voting rights ahead of the midterms
Hillary rigged her own party's primaries, cheated in her own party's debates, engaged in election fraud, suppressed voters choices, changed them, deleted them, and then was GIVEN the nomination after the DNC denied Sanders of his deserved nomination.

Hillary colluded with and paid foreign spies and Russians for their help in trying to win the 2016 election...

Hillary's ally McAuliffe in Va let felons vote, a group in Texas is registering illegals to vote....

Hey lil' hypocrite...why don't you try running someone who isn't a felon and who can actually win their own primary without cheating and screwing their own base before ya accuse others of being Democrats.

:p

Funny. Credible proof?

How about the DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile who exposed all of it, admitted giving Hillary the debate questions, stacked the deck against Bernie and gave Hillary his nomination.

If you can't / won't take the DNC Chairwoman's on word for it you won't accept any proof...

“Why are Republicans terrified of free and fair elections?”

They know that most Americans support what most conservatives oppose:

A majority of American support woman’s right to privacy

A majority of Americans support the right of gay and transgender Americans to equal protection of the law

A majority of Americans support the decriminalization of marijuana

A majority of Americans support comprehensive immigration reform

Republicans understand that theirs is a minority government, that most Americans oppose the Republican agenda, and that without voter suppression, without placing undue burdens on the right to vote, and without the disenfranchisement of voters, Republicans would lose control of their minority government.

Republicans understand that theirs is a minority government, that most Americans oppose the Republican agenda,

Of course. How else could we have won the House, the Senate, the White House, and most of the Governorships across the country? Because we are the minority, right?

Could it be democrats might elect her?

Republicans cheated, they told the American public the democrats cheated.

Republicans cheated, they told the American public the democrats cheated.

And this is how brainwashing works.

The Democrats have been telling us for nearly 40 years how the GOP is fading away. The GOP is a bunch of old white guys dying off. Socialism is the new future for America.

If they were ever honest with their constituents, they would lose interest in voting and go away.

To encourage their vote, Democrats told them that they won elections, it's just that Republicans found a way to chat them out of their vote.

Donald Trump: Russia interference, Comey investigations, unfair media time with Trump.
Bush reelection: Diebold machines.
Bush first election: hanging chads, brother the governor of Florida, Supreme Court "selecting" Bush.
Republican leadership of 2010 Congress: Gerrymandering, voter suppression, Voter-ID.

Democrat voters simply can't follow this pattern because let's face it, they are not very bright. Instead, they buy whatever excuses their leaders give them to placate their failures.

Politics is dirty enough without CHEATING people out of their right to vote.
In the interest of fairness, it is worth noting that the dems have a superdelegate system while republicans do not. Their gerrymandering and voter suppression does more damage in the end though.

Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression can not be ignored, but the the superdelegate system from the DNC can't be ignored either.

I love the meme in your sig, Lakhota, by the way. So true to who republicans are.

I hear you about the superdelegate system; however, since the DNC is a "private" organization - that is their legal right. I wish the delegate system would be revised in both parties.

Okay but you can talk about their legal rights thoroughly, but I don’t see how you can deny that the superdelegate system undermines democracy.

There is no voter suppression in the United States. How hard is it to show an ID? Go register to vote? It’s not. As for gerrymandering...better look at what Democrats do in the blue states where they control the state legislatures.

Both parties have their reasons for delegates and superdelegates. I would prefer they all be abolished. Abolish the Electoral College. The Popular Vote should rule - even if the people sometimes elect an idiot.

Democratic Party has Superdelegates because their primary system has been so fucked up since the McGovern committee recommended the system of proportional primary. They can’t pick a clear winner and want to avoid another 1924 debacle.

Republicans don’t have superdelegates and the system that they have in place gives these people, if their is a comparison, way, way, way, way, less power than DNC Superdelegates.
The GOP's Superdelegate Rules Are Different Now
