Why are the republicans wrong about "Obamacare"?

O-care is only a framework- any improvents are gratefully accepted, they'll be tinkering with it FOREVER. The fact that Pubs wouldn't vote for their own type of reform just proves the extent of their obstructionism or that they've been BSing forever.

I find it hilarious when liberals begin to say how cost effective Health Care would be if only the government controlled it. They did try that very thing in Massachusetts, only to find that costs never went as planned. In fact government run MassCare still manages to remain the most expensive Health Care system in the nation. Unfortunately when you cite examples of cost, the left still carries this disillusioned notion that THIS TIME around things will be different.

March 24, 2013 -- BOSTON -- Seven years after ordering near-universal health insurance coverage for its residents, Massachusetts is still struggling to contain spiraling health care costs.

Mandating health insurance coverage for most all citizens has had little success in reining in Massachusetts' medical spending. The Boston area, for instance, remains one of the nation's costliest places to obtain health care.

"On a per capita basis, we have one of the most expensive health care systems in the country,"
Andrew Dreyfus, president and chief executive of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, told a recent conference in Boston of the Association of Health Care Journalists. "If we do nothing, we're going to bankrupt this state."

.... Massachusetts state government, which is required by law to pass a balanced budget, has experienced cuts in most other spheres of activity. But health care costs continue to grow exponentially -- squeezing other parts of the state budget and outstripping new tax revenue.

Massachusetts Healthcare Experiment Enters Second Phase - HispanicBusiness.com

Hispanic Business.com, my arse- think I'll go with PBS and everyone else but the PPM, who say Mass's cost rises are now lower than any other state...and O-care is BETTER, with a 3% tax on bloated rich bastids...and low cost clinics, care guidelines against malpractice, fraud investigators, limits on non-care spending, etc etc etc. MORE to come too.lol

Why are the republicans wrong about "Obamacare"? If it doesn't cover every one and the system harms the healthcare system. How could anyone support such?

The republicans think this system will destroy our healthcare system. If this is going to happen how can you support it?

I am watching foxnews. How are they wrong?

The Liberal Left doesn't know what's in it yet, how are Republican's supposed to know?

The Insurance Industry will be the benefactor of Obamacare...

The con is it will help the Americans without Health Insurance...

This alone will drive the poor further from good healthcare and Obama will be collecting his POTUS retirement for screwing up HC coverage in the Best HealthCare environment in the world, only in America...

The PPM imparts no understanding of O-care, just fear mongering and bs- what you see vomited up by dupes here every day. None of those horrors actuallly happen, and Masscare and every other modern country prove it will be a success. You'll never get anything factual from Pubs (who love the scam we have now) or their dupes....

Then kindly explain the fact that so many who have the political where-with-all to do so, are opting out of the program cajoling exemptions from the Obama White House. The "fact" is that it's YOU that are the dupe, Franco because you support this abomination even though it's going to be a fiasco. Why? Because Barry supported it and you blindly support whatever Obama supports.

I'll be interested to watch your reaction down the road when how bad this program really is becomes apparent. Who will you blame it on then? The Democrats OWN this, Franco! Hard to play the "it's the Pubs fault!" card at this juncture. You're stuck with ObamaCare and the damage it does to both our fiscal well being and to our health care system overall.

There are no exemptions Some temporary waivers for unions until their Cadillac Plan contracts run out- 2018 at the latest...

File under: Fear mongering Pub BS that never happened, and never will.

Horse patoot. One thing for sure, Fox/Rush/Beck etc will never tell you anything straight, and dupes know only their idiot talking points...

Many Dems DO have a clue, and saying Pelosi doesn't understand it is RIDICULOUS. Too bad ALL media is too cowardly and ratings mad to explain it...

Poor people? Everyone under 140% of poverty line, about $20k single, $28k family of 4, gets free medicaid WITHOUT having to go on welfare- CHEAPER than what we have NOW, dupes....subsidies up to 50k-88k. Now you know MORE than all the other dupes, shytteheads...lol

I'm not sure which is greater...your overall ignorance...or your willingness to believe anything this Administration puts out is "gospel".

In six months, none of those will exist.

Annual Limits - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
A small number of workers and individuals only have access to limited benefit, or “mini-med,” plans with lower annual limits than are generally permitted by law and which can provide very limited protection from high health care costs. Employers and insurers estimated that requiring mini-med plans to comply with the new rules could cause mini-med premiums to increase significantly, forcing employers to drop coverage and leaving some workers without even the minimal insurance coverage they have today.

In order to protect coverage for workers in mini-med plans until more affordable and more valuable coverage is available in 2014, the law and regulations issued on annual limits allow the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to grant temporary waivers from this one provision of the law that phases out annual limits if compliance would result in a significant decrease in access to benefits or a significant increase in premiums. Plans that receive waivers must comply with all other provisions of the law and must alert consumers that the plan has restrictive coverage and includes low annual limits. Additionally, these waivers are temporary and after 2014, no waivers of the annual limit provision are allowed.

Care to wager whether that "temporary" tag will be amended to allow them to continue, Greenie?

Those who claim that MassCare is not finding any debt problems, I'd like to see those sources and links. I have come across over a half dozen since 2008 all sharing the same cost problems, appointment problems, and doctor provision problems.

Again, I'm glad to see you've included some links to back up your statements, wouldn't want anyone to think you are simply making all this up concerning Massachusetts' Health Care system.

Certainly nothing like the fear mongering BS Pub dupes believe, supporters always said problems would happen in the first few years if at all, and O-care is better....will be the most popular social reform ever...like in every other country with universal care.

There's no statutory authority to continue the annual limit waivers into 2014, nor is there any policy reason (or political will) to do so--the problem they exist to correct won't exist next year.

The annual limit waivers won't exist after this year, though I suspect it will take a number of years for that fact to catch up with some of you. It's been three years and it's not clear that most of the folks who harp on those waivers even know what was waived.
