Look at it another way if you wish: food service has an 18 to 20% labor cost, including managers. If they don't keep it that low, food, pour and occupancy costs will render them unprofitable.

Your Happy Meal costs $3. Labor thus cannot be more than 60 cents, including managers and working owners. But okay, up that 80%, for sake of easy math / argument. Labor is now a buck-eight, for a delta of 48 cents. That's wrong, to the positive. But fuckit. Let's say that's what it is.
