Why Religion Must Be Banished....

Let's not derail the thread. Science has nothing when it comes to how everything, including life, came into existence.

You mean other than providing explanations other than " A magic Sky Pixie did it so he could torture one tribe for 3000 years promising them a strip of desert!"

Here you go, k*nt.

Hey, buddy, you didn't answer the question.

If you assume that your sky pixie created the universe 14 billion years ago, then he had to have had a purpose for doing it.

But it seems to be so he could torture one tribe for not worshiping him adequately for most of the last 6000 years?

That's kind of crazy. Or at least an obsessive hobby.

And, they must.
Because if they accept the traditional view of God....then they would be forced to accept the corollary, the view that Evil, or Satan, or Lucifer, exist as well.....and the evidence would prove that Leftism is animated by that evil."

How does God feel about Gun Control?

Can you actually be stupid enough to imagine ( we can never use 'think' when responding to you)m that this is about guns???

Yes, you can be.

And are.

This is about values and attitudes.....

...and the fact that evil exists.

evil exists as an abstract human construct, thats for sure it exists

Uh, this is about guns....

It's about how a crazy person had access to military grade weapons and used them to devastating effect.

No, this about guns. "Evil" is a point of view.

This guy was clearly mentally ill. ANd he was still able to get enough guns to fight the Zombie Apocalypse.

And that easy access has been and remains the policy of the NRA. Which is why I believe that the NRA is an enabler of terrorists - domestic and foreign.

Jefferson's Letter to the Danbury Baptists
The Final Letter, as Sent

To messers. Nehemiah Dodge, Ephraim Robbins, & Stephen S. Nelson, a committee of the Danbury Baptist association in the state of Connecticut.

Gentlemen

The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful and zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, & in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more and more pleasing.

Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.

Th Jefferson

Jefferson's Letter to the Danbury Baptists (June 1998) - Library of Congress Information Bulletin

lol.... you just bit the big one on this thread, superchicky.................:itsok:

Me thinks you are not understanding what Jefferson was saying in that letter. Perhaps you should take a class in the English language, and how it has changed over the centuries. What Jefferson is stating is that the GOVERNMENT may not proclaim a NATIONAL RELIGION (like the Anglican Church as an example, or Sharia for a more modern analog), but that he honors the religion of those who were praying for him.
"WhatJefferson is stating is that the GOVERNMENT may not proclaim a NATIONAL RELIGION "

100% , ass-backwards wrong. Jefferson is saying he cannot intervene in their plight against their State because even the appearance of federal protection of one specific religion to any degree whatsoever could be construed as violating the establishment clause. Jefferson is making it abundantly clear that the establishment clause goes much further than simply preventing the establishment of a national religion.

No, only constitutional revisionists ever make those claims. The Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution very carefully, and for a reason. Namely, they knew that people like you would come along sooner or later so they wrote the COTUS as simply as possibly so as to remove as many possible avenues for you to corrupt its meaning as possible.

I. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petitition the Government for a redress of grievances.

II. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

no they did not write the constitution as precisely for one side over another, the COTUS is deliberately vague as the two examples above and many others for the very opposite reason you imply - the document deliberately allows for more liberal interpretations being their own for future generations to not be dominated by narrow minded people ruling through mindless dogmas satisfactory to only theirselves.

That's right. The universe created itself and life materialized out of nowhere.
Again, just because you don't understand science doesn't mean it isn't a thing.

Let's not derail the thread. Science has nothing when it comes to how everything, including life, came into existence.

And you have even less. Get that through your head immediately!
