Will the military be allowed to vote this time?

The problem is chronic:

"So, why aren’t soldiers voting? In many cases they simply can’t, and they have their commander in chief, President Obama, to blame.

Hundreds of thousands of our uniformed personnel have been shut out of the process, and we can thank the Obama administration and even the Obama campaign for this tragedy. After poor turnout in 2008, Congress passed the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (Move) Act to ensure that all military are provided with the opportunity to vote. The act put standards in place, such as mailing absentee ballots no later than 45 days before an election and requiring installation voting assistance offices to be built at most military bases and posts.

The Pentagon has utterly failed to meet these standards.

As of September, the Department of Defense inspector general’s office found that the Obama administration had “not established all the [assistance offices] as intended by the Move Act.”

RYUN: Obama suppressing the military vote

Obama holds this bag.

No, he doesn't. Obama is the one who campaigned for, and signed the MOVE act.

You are aware that elections are run by the States, not the Federal government. Right?
Argue with the Inspector's General Office of the DoD they seem to have a set of facts that you do not have or refuse to believe. Now it is you who are arguing in some amorphous vacuum.

What "facts" would those be, exactly?

Did the DoD IG say that Obama has control over each state's election process? Did he say that Obama vetoed the MOVE act?

When did the DoD IG say that "Obama holds this bag"?

Or did you just make that part up on your own?

This is what the DoD "said", "The Department of Defense inspector general’s office found that the Obama administration had “not established all the [assistance offices] as intended by the Move Act.”

No, that's what the Washington Times said, not what the DoD said.
Try again, you have disproved nothing. Your assessment does not trump this source.

You didn't post the "source", you posted a right-wing Op-Ed from the Moonie Times.

From the actual "source" (the IG report):

We concluded the Services had not established all the IVAOs as intended by the MOVE Act because, among other issues, the funding was not available. Officials pointed out the law did not authorize DoD additional funding for this initiative and estimated IVAO costs could exceed $15-20 million per year.

Now, do you think you can point out the major difference between the IG's report, and the Moonie Times Op-Ed?

What you are missing is the following:

"PRESIDENTIAL DESIGNEE.-The term "Presidential designee" means the individual designated under section 101(a) of Act. (b)ESTABLISHMENT.-IN GENERAL.-The Presidential designee may establish 1 or more pilot programs under which the feasibility of new election technology is tested for
the benefit of absent uniformed ....Voters and overseas voters claiming rights under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (42 U.S.C. 1973 et seq.)."

The Obama administration had a right and responsibility to act and they did not.

Now it is time for me to go to bed I have a performance in NYC and have to travel in a few hours.

What makes you say the Obama administration didn't "act"? Describe this "responsibility".

You don't think passing the MOVE act is "acting"?

Is there anyone here interested in the right of the military to vote?

They needed to help in implementing and facilitating the act they did not.
