you can thank the Unions

The bankruptcy of Stockton California.
The closing of Hostess.
:clap2:

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 1 (Reuters) - A U.S. federal judge on Monday approved the city of Stockton's petition for bankruptcy in a case that sets the stage for a lengthy battle between bondholders and the California pension system.

In a case being studied by other cash-strapped American cities including Detroit, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Christopher Klein's decision was a setback for bondholders and insurers who had resisted the California city's bankruptcy filing. Stockton is the largest U.S. city ever to file for bankruptcy.

The judge also signaled that the California Public Employees Retirement System's position in the case was not above review. Stockton, a city of 300,000, has so far not reduced pension payments to retired city workers, although it has eliminated retiree healthcare benefits.

Wrong, Quantum Sheep. Let's look at Czar Kasich of Ohio as a prime example. And when it went to vote, the people shoved it back up his ass almost to the tune of 70%. If these cocksuckers want to destroy the middle class, they're going to have to fight harder.

John Kasich on public unions: ?I want to break the back of teachers unions?

Pointing out that the people of Ohio told their government to protect unions just makes my point. Thanks for playing though.

Congrads, Sheep, for whatever you need a pat on the back for. We're not laying down for Czar Kasich's government take over, and we're sure as hell not going to lay down and watch the middle class get destroyed without a fight, and fight 'em we did. You may think it's a keen idea to destroy the middle class, we don't.

Sorry, I assumed you were intelligent.

Won't happen again.

Unions had their place at one time. Now they have become exactly what the unions were created to fight against! The leeches are bleeding the host dry. They will happily and joyfully kill off the very company that pays the union benefits. The unions murdered Stockton, Hostess and is murdering San Bernardino the same way. The unions took Detroit from Motor City to derelict in a few years.

I once worked for a non-union company. When the union decided to move in they beat the workers who wouldn't vote for them. They threatened the children of these workers. They went to worker's homes and vandalized them. They burned cars in the company parking lot. We stood firm and fought back, literally fought them off in the parking lots and driveways.

SEIU sent busloads of union protesters to terrorize one fourteen year old boy. That's what kind of people they are.

Not surprised. Unions are domestic terrorist groups and should be dealt with as such.

Unions and craft guilds are an integral part of a free market economy and should not be hampered. Unions for government workers are a sham.

There is no doubt that the efforts of early union organizers, yes, including members of the ACP, have helped shape America for the better. There, is no doubt, too, that organizing government workers presents a genuine danger to America.

Personally, I'd like to see everyone who works for Walmart walk out the door right now, form a line, and bust anyone who tries to cross it with an ax handle taken from the home and garden department.

How evil.

I would like to see union thugs dealt with properly: riot police using flamethrowers, nerve gas, machine guns, and tanks firing canister shot.

Feb 25 (Reuters) - New credit evaluation standards for public pension liabilities proposed by Moody's Investors Service would swell unfunded liabilities for California's state and local public pension plans to $328.6 billion from $128.3 billion, according to a report released on Monday.

Public pension funds have come under criticism for maintaining return targets seen as overly ambitious, though California's state employees' pension fund says it can meet its target over the long term.

Members of the Chicago Teachers Union have overwhelmingly ratified a new contract, union officials said late Wednesday, ending a bitter dispute with Mayor Rahm Emanuel over school reforms that prompted the first strike of city teachers in 25 years.
The deal will give teachers an average pay raise of 17.6 percent over four years if the three-year contract is extended an extra year.

The pay increases would cost an extra $74 million a year, the district has said. Chicago teachers make an average of about $76,000 annually, according to the school district.

Unions exploit you. No thanks to those parasites.

Yeah, they "exploit" you with higher wages and better working conditions.

Even when you have not earned those high wages.. and even though the government already has workplace laws

Otherwise known as unions are fucking useless, even though they had their usefulness in the distant past

The government does have workplace laws for workers, you're right. Instituted by which party? How about premium pay for overtime? Another socialist plan by democrats (FDR) but I'm sure most republicans would howl if that were taken away. Even cops have unions and get O.T. premium but they usually vote republican in my experience.

The insolvency of the post office.
The insolvency of the state of California
Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore

Let's hear it for unions!

The post office is not insolvent. If the government would stop taking their money to use on other things, they'd be doing just fine.

This is the place to put your thanks to worker unions.

You can thank the unions for a 40 hour work week.

lets see just how many things this country can be thankful to unions for

the list will be very long

todays Unions are irevelent, there days were numberd with Regean and the air traffic controlers and just got smashed with the Walker recall and mIchigan becoming a work to right state. By By American pie.... the useless lazy ass Unions of 1970's till today. see ya!

All you sons of bitches and me included KNOW that this topic of unions wouldn't even be a topic of discussion were it not for the politicians putting it in play for another wedge, divide and conquer issue to keep the people bitching amongst themselves and keeping the eye off of them. Chalk it up on the "useless political discussion board" with abortion, race, prayer in schools and all the other wedge issues that they could give a fat rat's ass about.

Oh yes they are.
It was the Postal Union that went to congress in 2006, to get the bill passed for the pre funding for future retiree pensions & health care.

NALC Bulletin - January 27, 2006

NALC Bulletin - January 27, 2006

Even some of the employees were for it.
“On behalf of 330,000 active postal employees who deliver mail on city and rural routes across America, we urge the United State Senate to swiftly pass S. 662, the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. The NALC and the NRLCA believe this long-overdue legislation will ensure the strength and viability of the U.S. Postal Service for decades to come.”
i think you read the bill wrong Peach....

Key Provisions

The bill would preserve six-day delivery and universal service while protecting postal employees’ collective bargaining rights. It would also repeal the Postal Service’s obligation to make a $3 billion per year contribution to an escrow account while reversing the unfair allocation of military pension costs to the USPS. NALC had hoped the legislation would pass quickly this year so that the problems remaining in the legislation could be worked out in a House-Senate conference committee.

The point I was making is that they were for the bill that passed in 2006, that pays 21 billion a year up front for future retirees health care, which is now Bankrupting them.
Now they are against it, they very thing that they supported in 2006.

you have the wrong Bill Peach......you are talking about HR-6407.......but you are linking to S-662...<<<...the Union was for that one........but both the Union and PO are against HR-6407...both were from 2006.....
this is the one you are talking about......
