No one said you can't investigate a candidate who is running for president.
The question presented by Trump is that he can do as he wishes when running for president
Why did Obama interfere with Trump's campaign by launching a fake investigation against him using Russian Propaganda Obama paid for himself? And why is merely asking about corruption in Ukraine a problem for President Trump in the light of what Obama actually did?

If your whole impeachment argument is that you cannot investigate a person running for President,
Mr Tree, I believe your assumption is wrong, in this way: Yes! you can and should investigate corruption in any and all candidates...by the US investigating agencies! Mr. Trump is asking a formerly chastised corrupt foreign group to do the job because he can influence their conclusions thru extortion. Of course you will counter with the Steele Dossier, but that was never a key factor in the '16 campaign because it didn't check out.

""then why did Obama (Obama?) buy Russian Propaganda and launch an Investigation based on it, on Candidate Trump when he knew it was a lie and knew it was Russian Propaganda?
""

What proof, other that the word of the world's most famous liar and diversionist, do you have the Obama bought Russian propaganda and launched an investigation on it and Trump...whom he warned about Russian interference?
Funny to see a Liar try to call me, a person who has done nothing but champion truth a LIAR, because you don't like what I have to say. Hope you have time to read, Liar...

Mr. Tree, at least we understand each other. Although I do not recall calling you a liar. And thank you for the roster of Right Wing diatribes.

But we will never agree. And I suppose this has been a long time coming. Republicans did a great CYA on Reagan over Iran-Contra, tried very hard with Nixon, and now cover the Trump/McConnell monarchy with gusto. Although the pompous asses did get a little upset over a blow job once, but other than that... lies, bribes, emoluments, and striking inconvenient Constitutional requirements are 'good policy'. The middle class of my youth is gone, overtime, equal pay, benefits. College is further from possible than ever, and the 1% are raking in riches untold. I see corruption and dishonor throughout, but what hurts most is not so much the pols..it is you. You looking at all the faults of the past that did NOT threaten our security, including debunked conspiracies, and using them to cover the most corrupt admin since Teapot Dome. Thru you "It HAS Happened Here" and I mourn the loss.

God Bless you! I will not offend you again!

Re-reading your post again, I believe you called The President a Liar, and not me, but if he is telling the truth, and for the past 4 years that has been proven to be true each and every time, he has debunked The Obama Administration's Denials, and The Leftist Denials, then technically wouldn't that make you a liar?

And if you believe lies and are unable to see truth, does that not mean your conscience had been seared and clouded to truth?

The only Conspiracies I have seen debunked is The Obama Administration's and Clinton Campaign's claim of Russian Collusion which they funded and promoted and weaponized in The FBI, DOJ, CIA, NSC, and FISA.

At any rate, you did not call "me" a liar. My apologies for reacting that way, and I wish I could alter the post to say you were calling The President of The United States a liar.

Why is Justice Roberts and Supreme Court Justice Breaking The Law and Violating Due Process Guarantees of The Right to Face your Accuser?

Due process rights don't apply to employment, they are reserved for criminal charges, where the accused may end up in jail. Trump isn't facing criminal charges. He's being impeached. Impeachment is Congress deciding whether or not the President should fired. If he does ever face actual criminal charges, he'll have full due process rights.
Due Process is required in all Government proceedings, and hearings. I have went over this 100 times and you Liars keep saying That The President has No Right to Due Process. You are liars.
Due process is a legal term. Impeachment is a political process not a legal process.

The alleged corruption was there supposedly in 2017 and 2018. There was no involvement by the blob. Biden declares for POTUS and (make me laugh) the blob suddenly becomes interested in investigating the corruption and mentions only the Bidens by name?
You post this like it matters.

I like to put it like this:

The Democrats want to Exonerate Joe Biden for extorting the Ukraine in to firing The Prosecutor Investigating Hunter Biden for Corruption.

The Democrats want to Impeach Donald Trump for asking why Joe Biden extorted the Ukraine in to firing The Prosecutor Investigating Hunter Biden for Corruption.

Due Process is required in all Government proceedings, and hearings. I have went over this 100 times and you Liars keep saying That The President has No Right to Due Process. You are liars.
That's incorrect. Here's where it's mentioned in the 5th Amendment:

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

Here's the passage from the 14th Amendment: "... nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law".

In both cases, government is only required to adhere to due process if they're trying to deprive someone of their "life, liberty, or property". That isn't the case with impeachment.

Due Process Clause - Wikipedia

Procedural due process

Procedural due process requires government officials to follow fair procedures before depriving a person of life, liberty, or property.[25]:657 When the government seeks to deprive a person of one of those interests, procedural due process requires the government to afford the person, at minimum, notice, an opportunity to be heard, and a decision made by a neutral decisionmaker.

This protection extends to all government proceedings that can result in an individual's deprivation, whether civil or criminal in nature, from parole violation hearings to administrative hearings regarding government benefits and entitlements to full-blown criminal trials. These rights, which apply equally to civil due process and criminal due process, are:[26]

  • An unbiased tribunal.

  • Notice of the proposed action and the grounds asserted for it.

  • Opportunity to present reasons why the proposed action should not be taken.

  • The right to present evidence, including the right to call witnesses.

  • The right to know opposing evidence.

  • The right to cross-examine adverse witnesses.

  • A decision based exclusively on the evidence presented.

  • Opportunity to be represented by counsel.

  • Requirement that the tribunal prepares a record of the evidence presented.

  • Requirement that the tribunal prepares written findings of fact and reasons for its decision.

Looks like you agree with me. Due process only applies "before depriving a person of life, liberty, or property." Since impeachment deprives no one of life, liberty or property, no due process is required.

No. They didn't.

I heard they discovered a new element on the periodic table called Trumpium. Tr has a density that exceeds that of Osmium, previously recognized as the densest material known. It is evident in this thread.

So depriving the President of his office and opportunity to run for Re-Election is not depriving him of Liberty?

You are one strange person.

But then again, all Fascists, Communists, Nazis, Socialists really don't care much about Civil Rights and Liberties, do they?

:21:
The entire Article I: Abuse of Power nonsense is exactly that.
I had no idea it was ok for a president to use his office to withhold congressionally approved aid to a key ally, a foreign country, in order to get them to publically announce an investigation into his personal political rival.

Better be careful what precedents you want to support here because it won't always be Republicans in the White House.

Like the rest of the useful idiots, you have the DNC spin down pat. Well done.

- Holding up foreign aid pending review is not an abuse of power.
- Asking a foreign government to look into the actions of an elected US official with regard to that country is not an abuse of power.
If the two are linked, how does it create an abuse of power?
If that elected official happens to be running for President, how does it create an abuse of power?
